  1. I actually just finished this version last week: http://www.davematney.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Amazing-Grace-Final.mp3 It's short, because it's for a church video, but the overall idea is there.
  2. It doesn't have to be recorded, though it'd be a lot easier in the long run. I wrote the midi almost a year ago in Temper, before I knew anything about velocity or humanization, so it's all unnaturally straight rhythms all at 100 velocity. I'm even embarrassed to write that. I've since learned, and picked up a midi controller so there's variance, but for the old stuff I've just been using velocity envelopes and humanization plugins. But PM me your email and I'll send you the bundle, as it stands right now (if you can forgive some slop on the drums and guitar, which were only recorded this afternoon). Or just the midi file, if you prefer that.
  3. I'm sorry for making my first post a cry for unpaid help. I've been lurking for quite some time, and love the forums, I'm just so new to all of this that I feel like I can't contribute much. So, here's the deal; I need help with strings. Cello, Viola, and/or Violin. Not composing, but actually recording. See, my buddy is a film maker, and he's proposing to his girlfriend via film on the 30th, and he's asked me to write a piece for him. I've done it, sequenced the midi, recorded drums, and I'm about to sit down to record guitar and bass. The song heavily features a string duet (if you can call it that, more like lead string, and backup string)... and the string player I had lined up didn't work out. I need help; I need to have a string part recorded so I can mix and master it by the end of this weekend. I can get you a Cakewalk Bundle file via YouSendit (I only have Sonar LE 6), and I can notate the parts if you need (though my notation skills are atrocious). If you can help, even a little bit (even if it's taking my midi file and making it better), that would be a huge help to me. I can't pay, and I'm sorry, but I'm desperate. Thank you, Dave Matney
