  2. tried mp3 wouldn't opload correctly and idk how to transfer to pdf if anyone cares to help with that, i'm down =P
  3. This is my rough draft of a march i'm working on Planning to begin orchestration tomorow, which will involve adding a few filler parts and harmonies, as well as adding transition sections that will help the piece move along better. Any ideas are wondeful! [edit:] during the trombone/horn feature, i'm chaging the second measure of each phrase to 2/4 time rather than 4/4, it fits the melody better. [edit:] sorry about the blank part, its hopefully going to be a slowed-down part (trio-esque,) but it hasn't been written yet. Marzo De La Cavaleras.MUS
  4. i really liked the B Minor one not so much the C Major
  5. I'm up to it =] i'll be doing an opener first, if time i might write a ballad my email - Keegankatastrofee@yahoo.com
  6. bravo very well written piece i was involved from the first measure to the last =D
  7. I would like to judge this competition =]
  8. 1. holy crap. i was in love at the first chord change, i kid you not. 2. the first piece that made me realize that i wanted a career in music...probably Sparks by Brian Balmages. Nothing over-the-top amazing about it, it just struck a chord (no pun intended) with me
  9. I thought the ending could have been a whole lot stronger, but only because the piece was so good. Very well done, just work out the kinks at the end and it could be quite amazing. =]
  10. at the begining i was a little wary, but when the triplet-eighth rythm came in, i was drawn wonderful piece =]
  11. I would love to help, but i'm stuck with finale 08 and can't open it =[
  12. Who was the first person to truly get you into music AND who was the first person to get you into composing? My middle school band director, Jeanette Soebbing was definitly the first person to make me truly love music And my inspiration for composing has always come alot from Frank Ticheli and Brian Balmages.
  13. Well put! I agree with Bolanos on this one When writing for a large group, i like to start out with two treble staves and two bass staves, and then let it build from there. Definitly good to plan ahead as well. Where you want the melody in, what instruments are doing what. As well as knowing your key signatures, time signatures, and other ideas. No such thing as being overprepared!
