  1. Does such thing exist? I need to pass this book for a class and I'm really not interested in spending days on it... Thanks
  2. yeah, its called the "tempo track". :) notation/daw needs some corellation. i almost ALWAYS do my tempo track in a DAW and then import it in finale and just write the accel/tempo markings.
  3. yeah you are probably right. logic pro8 and pro tools (now) 8 have better score editors. protools basically has sibelius built in. :) but i like logics score editor more
  4. Hm. doesnt the cubase have a builtin score editor? i find myself use logic's score editor often...

mp3 cuts off everything above 16khz. i guess thats where most of your noise was. some kind of hiss probably. also mp3 screws up harmonics fairly. :) edit: how can i download this :S
  6. protools8 now has an integration with sibelius. (actually a stripped version of sibelius is now built in protools.) that makes it the first DAW to be directly compatible with a notation software. but to be honest, if you wish to sequence your piece you will end up using a piano roll because its a different approach

noise is natural, its present in many classical recordings.. you probably cannot take it out without some work. try the "Schwa Spectro" plugin, its free Spectro | Stillwell Audio - It's About The Sound you can use it in audition i presume. i have izotope RX, if you wish i could take a look.
  8. oh yeah, of course... :S thank you!
  9. if that doesnt work you can send it to me and ill convert it for you. :)
  10. i am a sound engineer :P
  11. i guess ill have to do that. its not just violin, its also viola & cello. the beggining is extremly subtle and gentle
  12. its not the same amount of work if you write it in a notation program you can save it as midi. .mid is NOT a rendered midi file if you want to make it sound nice, you need to put in alot of effort... all the articulations have to be redone. in a big orchestral piece, thats a whole friggin lot i usually do it though because i like to take a glympse of how it will sound. :) and on a personal note, i am not exactly fulfilled with a properly sampled piece either (with properly i mean VSL with perf.tool), actually it only makes me crave even more to hear it live.. :) edit: come to think of it, ive spent days just tweaking the sound of the piece in Logic... while it was completely scored. but to be honest, a good sound was sort of inspiration for some parts which made me rewrite some of it.. :)
  13. id like to specify that only one violin plays of "Violin I" and its a waste of space to make another STAFF just for that few measures. how do you designate that? a stupid question i know but i cant seem to find it.
  14. well yes, but ive heard pianists that actually ruined a piece because of clumsy pedal usage. if you ask me it differs from composer to composer and his style of writing, some composers are really picky for details... anyway, is there any way to make the lines "sound" in the piece with human playback? ive just decided im gonna use mixed markings... ill have to clarify one are for precise pedal markings and others are for the "ad libitum"
  15. but finale doesnt interpret them on playback, right? anyway, im using lines now. thanks for the tip, come think of it, Ped_* is somewhat clumsy
