  1. I made a composition which I like very much, combining classical orchestral music with rock, ethnic and progressive. I hope you will like it. I want to hear critics, however good or bad, but I want oppinions. The song is named Frozen Theatre and it is posted on my Myspace URL. It is the only song in the player for now, and I made it with the band Electric Fence. I will post more, but I want oppinions about this one first. Thank you ! the link is MySpace.com - David - 19 - Male - - www.myspace.com/334022961
  2. Hello there, Just listened to your songs posted. I will start with the beginning, but please don't ask me not to be harsh in my oppinions. I expect that you are here to hear good parts, but more bad parts of your music to avoid them in the future. In the first place, I would say - get rid of the predictable in your music. Some are repetitive, but this is not bad all the time. But I had the sensation that I already knew all the chords before I even listened to the songs. As for the sound, I like it how you play with the low frequencies. You also like those, huh? And the piano tones are good. are they VST, Refills? everlasting - there is a problem with that violin at the beginning. In the first place, I wouldn't have chosen the ground notes for the solo (that's also very predictable). maybe try other combinations of notes. As for the sound of that violin, you have to do something with their attack, especially when solo. If you have a longer attack, you won't hear it so unnatural... It is obvious now that you made that on keyboard, and you must trick me, and say - yeah, that's a real violin playing there. After you reconsidered the attack, add a reverb to it, and also delay in your case, panned to right or left, just a bit. It will fill the sound substantially, trust me ! Also, avoid pressing two keys at once when you play a violin solo (you have F# and D at the same time somewhere at the beginning), unless you are sure that it really sounds "orchestral". Take everything - interesting track - I like the bass theme. And nice panning with the violins there ! Alien Song - That's too bad because of the sound. The music style is named Drum n Bass. You have a Lead n Sweep there. So compellingly, take care of the drum and the bass. They give the energy of this type of music, not the lead ! Funky Piano song - All that is before the beat I find quite useless. Do the slide on the keys a little quicker, and make the drum loop come in at the beginning. You might find better results in dynamics. That's about all from me. That's my mere oppinion about your music. Keep it up ! You have it. Just a little more work, like you said ! Good luck !!! I will post one of my favourite compositions on this page. It is named Frozen Theatre. Maybe I can make you understand what I mean with those violins I kept stressing you with! PS: one more thing: never ask others to give you ideas for your songs. You don't ask anybody to love instead of you, right? That's about it with music. It is YOUR music !
  3. I am new to this site, submitted a few minutes ago. But the thing that keeps bothering me is why many musicians around here attach .mid files. Redered MIDI sounds awful. It's the same amount of work if you do it in other programs using Refills (reason) or VST's (Cubase, Protools, etc). And they can sound great. They are also user-friendly. Come on guys, let's make a touch to the sound of our work ! Otherwise, I (and the most, I'm sure) can't get touched by the music.
  4. Very interesting idea for a solo. But take my advice. If you want this good idea to smash the listener, take good care of the sound of your piano. Try installing Reason 4.0, for example. You can use pianos from their incorporated package (because they still sound way better than the midi you showed here), or you may download Piano Refills from the net. You will see the difference of the dynamics, and you will enjoy your song even more.
