  1. i showed it with my teacher tonight and he said it was really good and had lots of good parts to it I can use to make a development section sound really good. He thought maybe it's better to make the turn in the first measure to resolve on the D which is also the first note of the theme. We continued talking about fugues in general and told me to study Bach and come back next week with more written.
  2. How can I make this a better subject before I take it in to my piano teacher tonight to work on it? fugues theme.mid
  3. i'd like to be influenced by different music. i'm talking about indian/european music we never here over here. i feel like there's so much melody/harmony we miss out on and that would really inspire us but we just don't have the access to it. how can i find GOOD & DIFFERENT music to either study or just listen to be inspired not necessarily to appreciate?
  4. what do you think of this passage... not sure how i could possibly use it.. it kind of sounds like a passage billy joel would bang out on a synth mid song. how can i work backwords from this meaningfully going in that direction? also the fact that the midi sounds are so weak it kind of makes the rhythm sound wrong. or maybe that's my drums? but the rhythms are what i want them to be.. it's just the time signature i might want to change. i have it going back and forth between 4/2 and 17/8. i could go back between 16 and 17/8 maybe that's better.. but i need 17 sometimes to get that pair of downward f-e-d's in. weirdrhythmsongthing.mid
  5. i'm bringing this with me to my piano lesson in an hour and would GREATLY APPRECIATE :) some small things i can take care of by changing them until my lesson. what do you suggest by listening? (i can't download cutepdf yet i need the password which i don't have right now) i don't have time right now to work on connecting the sections, just on improving the sections themselves before tonight. the chords are written in.. i was asked for a sketch with chords written on top and they are on the page, so... 6. i know cutepdf i just thought there might have been something i didn't have to download.. like another file version instead of pdf you could read.
  7. there's too much going on so soon. try and build up to things little by little. mozart caters to his listeners by helping them listen.. everything you wrote is mozartian but it's missing the love and the passion. there is NO love and NO passion whatsoever. as a study it's pretty good, but as a piece it's not emotionally valuable at all.
  8. there is a lot of passagework in it but I think it's not bad. should i continue or is the subject not good enough do you think? fugue for celesta.mid
  9. can i save as pdfs with finale 09? or some other type of score with just 09 for you to read?
  10. this is pretty much a sketch of new ideas for a pop rock tune. your ideas??? poprocksong.mid
  11. sorry to double post but i have a deadline for a composition by tomorrow
  12. what's wrong with this? help :) i wrote it in the past hour. i'm struggling with fugal writing. i have a few books on it but they are so hard to follow maybe a teacher here too or something would help more... ugh. fugue for organorceleste.mid fugue for keyboard.mid
