  1. yup the timpani. had a little problem with it in one of my earlier pieces so i was trying to avoid it. :P and yeah. i dont really know much about modal harmonic language. hmm. anyway thanks for the comment!
  2. hm yeah true true. okay thanks!
  3. It's still a work in progress. i had in mind writing in a manner befitting a film score. this is what i came up with. I would greatly appreciate comments on this. Thanks! A Fictional Overture
  4. I take it your from nanjing then? interesting scene to depict. you have some really good ideas in this piece. your introduction really caught my attention! i disagree with your point on chinese music being unable to develop. especially with the music of chinese composers in recent years. you're the composer! no one said u had to be bound to the classical chinese traditions of centuries past! all the best! i look forward to your next draft!
  5. Mm balinese gamelan is really unique. u should go check out javanese gamelan. it has a slower, more meditative ambience and is really interesting too. anyway your piece sounds more like a study of balinese gamelan using the piano as a medium. It's got loads of potential, so dont just stop at copying the gamelan techniques into the piano (though i must say u did a pretty good job with that), but combine aspects of both in ways nobody has thought of. you're the composer. it's your call how u want to go about doing it. :D all the best. and yeah. the links above are really good. :P
  6. OKAY score is up! thks!
  7. wow nice! yea i can imagine it must have been really fun to write! i can really picture the bird hopping around in that piece. :)
  8. ah riight. thanks! yep yep finale. but i'm still figuring out all the details on how to use it.
  9. hi thanks for the comments guys! @ royreintjes: eh i'm blaming the messiness on the software rendition, when it comes to piano it's hard to bring out the voicing. hmm. but thanks. i'll see what i can do.
  10. I wrote it 2 years ago for a friend's string orchestra. hope u enjoy this piece! i'll upload the score when i can find it. Sandcastles and Dreams
  11. EHHH. btw it's not a nocturne!! dont know why it appeared on the page...
  12. I wrote this 3 years ago for school. just interested to see what you guys think of this. might use this for application into a conservatory. Rhapsodia for 2 Pianos no.1
