  1. Maybe you should, Wick. I'm sure there are benefits to having the degree. One thing people have to keep in mind, though, is that getting a degree in one specific field doesn't limit you to only jobs relating to that field. I know many people who got a degree in one thing and now have jobs that have barely anything related to it. It seems that most employers just want to see if you are a competent person, along with job experience. One good way to do it is to go to college and get a degree.
  2. Alas, my poor weekends, I knew them well.

  3. If you are going to get an x, be sure to get a double. It's less likely to wobble around as much.
  4. Not sure if it's just a problem on my end but I can't see the mp3 file I uploaded in http://forum.youngcomposers.com/music/348/for-our-home/ The only file that shows up is the pdf of the score. I've tried reuploading it and making the file again but I keep having the same problem.
  5. Started puting this year's show on the field today. Really excited for this years marching season.

eh. We're in the process of regrowing the program. I'm really proud of home far they've come in two years.

  6. Sooooo I had some inspiration from Dream Theater and wrote a short instrumental in their style. If anything, this is the kind of music I really want to play. Also, I still have the problem of not being able to get the scores out of guitar pro.If anyone is curious, I would be playing the keyboard parts for this. Wound Up Wound Up
  7. Hmm. I didn't realize what sound the kick was making. Should fix that.
  8. That's pretty cool. Really digging the 8 bit sounds. Never tried writing with so much dissonance like that. Definitely makes me want to give it a try.
  9. Another electronic experiment of mine. Tried to give it a more jazzy feel with the sax solo but, again it quickly turned-into electro-metal. Despite that, I really feel that this is the best electronic song I've written so far. I'm very satisfied with the result. Feel free to comment or critique. Subtle Intuition
  10. My first attempt at writing electronic music. As you can see, it quickly turned into a more electro-metal thing but I still like the way it panned out. I plan on doing more like this in the future. Without Equal
  11. Started to experiment in different mediums. Got FL studio and started to mess around with some trance/ electronic themes. Really my first time doing this but I really like the end result. As always, comments and critiques are much appreciated.Been silent for many months because of work but no more. I plan on being a more active member of the forum. Dangerous Nightmare
  12. This kinda sucks because I don't have a sequencer so Finale is all I have to work with. I might have to go back to midi if it keeps causing problems like this.
  13. Been have consistent problems with the playback in finale 09. Sometimes the dynamics played are not the ones that are written. This also goes for technique markings as well. (I'm having trouble when writing for strings if that helps). I have tried putting the markings in before the note starts, like on a rest but sometimes that doesn't work. Anyone else having similar problems? Anyone know how to fix them?
  14. Could you post a score, pdf preferably. I for one can't really do a thorough review if I only have the sound file. Just from what I hear, there is some baroque influence, mostly in the piano. However, I've been out of contact with classical music for a few months so I might be wrong.
  15. I'd think the only way to get the other strings besides the first and sixth is to rework the guitar itself, which would be a pain. Now I'm curious if they make guitars that have a curved bridge.
