  1. Thanks for the replies! I just got done moving so it's been a while since I was able to get back on and reply. Sorry the link broke for the Score but I do have it up. http://www.octavebox.com/media/Triove-Siam_Mais.pdf It was my first piece containing vocals. I already noticed in the next piece that that melody is indeed very redundant and have been working on that. It's been a tough one trying to capture the mood in that. Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely keep it in mind. Edit: On a side note: The piece was composed based around the name of the piece. It's an in ABBA format reflecting the mirror of the names 'Siam' and 'Mais'. There's a little more info on it at: http://www.octavebox.com/triove-siam-mais/
  2. I am new the community and really enjoy it thus far. I have already commented on a few people's pieces and was actually surprised at the level these are composed at. Here's the first piece that I'd like to share: Triove: I. Siam Mais Triove is a piece for Piano and Tenor Voice with the lyrics all from Billy Corgan's book of poetry entitled: Blinking with fist. Each poem is a love poem. Each one progresses almost as a relationship might. The first piece is called Siam Mais (after the peom's title.) The performers are Matthew Habib as the Tenor Voice and Sara Gibbs on the Piano. (I can't figure out how to embedd it) It's also located at: Contempoary Classical Composer Jason Andrews Score: http://www.octavebox.com/media/Triove-Siam_Mais.pdf Lyrics: I am free To give my heart freely With no string attached To roam, to hurt To be devastated as I so wish To be ravished by freedom My youth So bound do I knock against her cages If she holds lock and key I am free To give you my heard This notion suits me, bears wight What is false and old is no ours to hold We have never possessed anything true in our whole lives, except maybe each other I see myself in you and that is a dangerous thing But is this friendship alive? Does it breathe when no one is listening? Does it know when I am sleeping? Stories can be retold Until they are polished smooth I give my heart to you in this story Because my heart has no end
  3. I liked it a lot. I think it'd sound much better with a live recording and some more contrasting dynamics. If you get this played live make sure they take dynamics to the extreme. It'll really bring out your climax.
  4. Keeping on subject... IT really depends on what you want to believe people do under different circumstances. Was he a Classical Music genius and may have become one of the few famous composers? Or would he take a modern popular style and perfect it. Personally I think a question like that is irrelevant and much better question would be what we he have created if he didn't die so young... if we were to get into theories. Would he have ventured further from his roots?
  5. To be honest I was a bit sketchy at the beginning with "I am Wild." But it did grow on me. I thought it was pretty good. I liked how the first section of it was in a renaissance style and then progressed (nicely I might at). There was a chord around 2:10 into it that seemed very empty for being such a strong point in the piece. Other than that I enjoyed it.
