  1. Hello everyone again, currently working on a string quartet (you can find the first two movements somewhere on my page =) ). Expect more from me in the near future!

yay! For a moment I was afraid you just dropped your music here, harvested all the compliments and would leave. please don't... ;)

I also think that people could really benefit from your reviews.

  3. old thread. see new uploads on my page! -Lawrence
  4. I absolutely agree about your opinions on the 1st movement; it wasn't very well built and relied an awful lot on ostinato patterns in both the piano and violin! I'm working on building all my subsequent works with a stable foundation (and have done). The second movement was quite sparse, true; I think I could have worked on the harmony there more. As for III, it was probably the most solid structurally as well . I'm currently studying harmony, which (I hope) will help my pieces to be more solid and coherent. Thank you for your feedback! -Lawrence
  5. I fixed the audio for movement 1 now, not sure what happened before. Hmm, I think the interplay idea is interesting; What I have now does have a bit too much exchange, esp. parts like m. 48-50. It's also true that having the instruments interact more would make the piece much more exciting - as of now it's usually only one or two instruments interacting at a time. Thanks for your comments! -Lawrence

  7. This is a violin/piano duet, and basically my first legitimate composition (3/1/09). My piece's title comes from the relative freedom of the structure of my composition. Enjoy. Freedom
  8. it sounds really interesting :) 1:30 ish sounded great :) some of the strange chords like at 3:20 were a little too abrupt I think but I like it overall :D
  9. I think it's a really good piece! :) Just a few comments: I think you could bring out the piano just a little more in the slower part somewhere in the middle of the piece. It has realllly interesting rhythms and melodic twists. yay :)
  10. good piece overall :) Pretty minor problems, and I don't want to offend so much. :) Some of my comments: In movement 1, around 1:25, the rhythm in the pizzicato seems a little out of place. I really liked the second one, but the third one could have more contrast with the second movement. It might get a little boring, but I still found it really interesting.
  11. Alright, here;s the PDF versions. Sorry for the delay :D Oh and Clavinova was this music festival-ish thing that I used my first movement for. Yeah they sell pianos :)
  12. Lol the cliff collapsing thing is violent :D but yeah I know I need to like keep up the melody and stuff Thanks for commenting and stuff :)
