  1. Beautiful Waltz and notewriting. I liked the relaxed pacing, and romantic melody. I've wanted to write on paper for a while, but don't have the patience yet. I would look forward to hearing the other variations if you post it in the future. -John
  2. Symphony - All 4 Symphonies of Brahms and Shostakovich's 5th String Quartet - Brahms' 1st and 2nd Piano Concerto - Bach D minor 1052 and Brahm's 1st in D minor(I love the ugly trills in the beginning) Instrumental Concerto - Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor and Glazon's Opera - I've only watched one, but I loved Puccini's Madame Butterfly Ballet - Stravinsky's Petrushka (Suite) Piano Sonata - can't chose maybe Beethoven's last Sonata No. 32 or Hammerklavier Violin Sonata - Brahms 2nd in A minor op.100 Cello Sonata - Brahms 2nd in F minor Piano Trio - Brahms 2nd and Mendelssohn's 1st in D minor(1st half) Quintet - Brahms' Quintet in F minor
  3. I loved listening to the live performance. I'll review this someday when the other movements are finished.
  4. You have the beginning of Titanic's "My Heart will go on" in the beginning melody, and then you have a three note motif that resembles Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, which goes nowhere. I still like the music.
  5. I've decided to work on it more. I didn't even like this myself.
  6. It's the second movement I wanted a review on, http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/cello-violin-viola-piano-6394.html I have midi, but the snares are toms. How do you put snares into midis?
  7. If a Shostakovich Symphony is 2nd rate, what is first rate?
  8. Why put quotes around your own statements? I think this composition genius. Please slow down once and a while.
  9. Thank you Matusleo for that list. It will take me a few years to listen to all of them.
  10. Any thoughts on the second movement? Sorry for the bump, I've waited two weeks for a review on the second movement. Also don't listen to the first movement, it's crap right now; I'll fix it when I have time next week.
  11. This has such a great ending, I also liked the second revision more than the lastest one.
  12. Actually, I was planning on this being the third movement a Symphony. I took some themes from the first movement, which is why they might seem out of place.
  13. Well, its very mournful and beautiful that I listened to it three times in a row. You have a gift for creating beautiful moviesque melodies. I heard the transpositions of the main theme, though some harmonic changes would make them more noticeable. I think for a lament, too much change in harmony would distract from the emotional trance you create with the subtle changes, so I like it the way with the diatonic harmony.
  14. I think this whole thing is fake. Sorry if this isn't.
