  1. It is a piece that I didn't think I would enjoy, but did anyway ;-) The intro is too short to my taste, and then the chaotic movement is too "blocky". I guess this is what Grizwald said in a more articulated way!
  2. Hi, Baritones hidden among the basses won't be able to sustain the low D (and that's if they can pitch it) for almost three bars. Why not give them a second option, as you have done in the last five bars?
  3. Very nice altogether. The piano chords at about 1'40'' and the tumultuous bass line around 4'50'' had a Rachmaninov feel to them.
  4. Can you write the piano part in the usual way (2 staves)?
  5. the score is too small, can't read it...
  6. The first piece is Perpetuum mobile by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra ( ) Still thinking about the 2nd one. Could it be a theme from midnight run? Edit: I'm 100% sure that the second one features on one of the first 5 CDs on this site: http://tinyurl.com/dzta7q Re-edit: I believe it is Crockett's theme from Miami Vice that you had in mind.
  7. Unless you mean the three smileys?
  8. Good stuff, not headache-inducing at all! Can you play it?
  9. Hi, I enjoyed that. A few comments: 1) Bowing: can these instruments actually hold a note for 3 or 4 bars? 2) The cello is a bit monotonous, can you get it to wander more towards the top of the staff, and give it some melody to chew on? At the moment it's like a bored bear pacing its cage, and raising its head when a rare visitor throws a clandestine morsel of food at it. (if it makes sense...) 3) Not a big fan of the chord progression, bars 138-142 and 225-229. 4) It seemed to lose focus in the last third of the piece, but that may just be because I'm tired ;)
  10. Thanks c7music. Initially I wasn't sure what you meant, but it turns out that in two places (bars 29 & 30) the harmony sounded thin because there were only 2 notes sung by 4 parts. See attachments for partial score and MIDI (by the way if anyone knows why the sounds are not the Choir Aaaahs, give us a shout). I've learnt not to write "final" in a filename :P Mini Kyrie modif 5-6.mus Mini Kyrie modif 5-6.pdf Mini Kyrie modif 5-6.mid
  11. Hi, I don't know much about the flute, but it looks like both the high and low part have a fairly narrow range. To my novice ear, the high part stays high for too long, but maybe it's just a matter of taste.
  12. Did you mean to title your piece "Une femme et un homme", or did you swap the genders on purpose?
  13. Hi, just a bit worried that there are no obvious places to breathe in those veeery long rhythmic passages...
  14. I like it! 2 questions though: Would grace notes not work better than 64th notes? If it bothers you not to have lyrics to put to this melody, what instrument could you have to play it (rather a soprano)?
  15. Oops, I hadn't looked at Matthaeus' example... the score has been modified to take this into account, but I won't post it here, no need to clog the system.
