  1. Good start for your first composition. Just keep working and trying new and different things!
  2. well definitely thank you for the feedback I appreciate it! I'm always looking for good feedback! =) I made the mp3 through the finale program that I use and yes I agree with you that the percussion in the recording is obnoxious; however, what I wrote does not have it as bluntly stated as it does on the mp3. I will absolutley look into the varitation though!
  3. ok so I added a link should be good to listen to
  4. This is more of a funk chart that calls for a great bass player! I wrote this piece fairly quickly and was incredibly surprised how well it came out! Let me know what you think! :) saturday.MUS saturday-score[1].pdf
  5. This piece was started about 6 months ago in a nearly pitch black sanctuary of a church near where I live. Initially I really wanted to try to play with the electric drum set that was sitting near the baby grand piano but as I realized the power was shut off from the building i headed over to the piano. After picking at it for a short while I stumbled upon the beginnings of this piece. It initially started with the discovery of the piano beginning and then led to the cello solo that comes in just before the staggered entrances of most of the other instruments. The name of this piece means "O my misery" and was named by one of my friends. The reason he found this name fitting was because after I gave him a recording of it every time he felt upset or disheartened he would listen to it and it would make him feel better. As I got more and more into this piece I realized that it would be a great option for my senior project in which i had to choose a career path and study it. I chose music education and composition. Through this piece I have discovered much more about myself and the whole composition process. It has also led me to start a symphonic orchestra in my school that meets once a week and gives the other students an opportunity to conduct and play pieces that they normally wouldn't with the orchestra or band. I have spent much time on this piece and it is part of a suite that i am working on right now. Hopefully one day it will be performed by an amazing symphony! here's a link to listen to it RapidShare: Easy Filehosting O Me Miserium.mus
