  1. Hi, I am currently a Sibelius 5 user, and composing a Jazz Band piece. For solos and rhythm notation, I have to use the "/" bars in the measure, but I have to insert them and arrange them manually.. which is very tedious. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!
  2. Does anyone know how to remove "Tacet" bars at the end of a song? I have everything the way I want...but at the end of the song there are 30 something bars of nothingness that I can't get rid of. Whenever I try to copy and paste it to a different score, the same thing happens! I'm using Sibelius 5, and any help would be appreciated.
  3. Is C a bad key to write jazz for? Everything just seems to work out really nice range wise in that key, but I wanted to make it was one of those "unwritten rules" that you "just don't do". Thanks!
  4. So Should I try to go to HFA and find Muse's publisher and contact them? or Muse itself? O_o
  5. It is a great song! And it sounds VERY cool jazzed up. Haha and its ok, I appreciate the effort. :P
  6. Hi. This isn't so much a composition question as it is an arrangement question. I have recently arranged the song Hysteria by Muse for a jazz band, and I was asking my director if we could play it. (I play bass trombone in the jazz band.) He said no, due to copyright laws. Is it true that if we make no money off of performing it, it isn't legal? Because that's primarily what a cover band is...right? I just wanted to see y'all s opinions. Thanks!
  7. Wow. That is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
  8. Hi, I'm using Sibelius 5 for an arrangement, and it is REALLY crowded. You can barely see the notes, there are so many instruments, markings, etc. Is there anyway I can make the font of the actual score smaller, or condense the score to where it is more legible? It would be so much easier... Thanks. :)
