  1. The music is beautiful! I really like the kind of harmonic language that you use, with the clusters and color tones. However, I'm a little put off by the extreme disconnect in tone between the music and the text. This is very bleak, miserable poetry, while the music, on first listen, sounds very sunny and joyful. What made you make those choices?
  2. Hello, all! I am Conqueso. Well, that's not my name, but...oh, forget it. Some of you may have noticed me slapping strange, nonsensical chord progressions onto the melodies in the harmonization sub-forum and wondered what sort of nonsensical things I do to my own melodies. Well...YOU'RE GOING TO FIND OUT! I suppose I should put some background in here, but I don't feel like writing much. The three pieces I have here basically speak for themselves. They're all very recent (like, in the past months). I have plenty of unfinished and/or crappy works from the past 6+ years I've been composing, but I thought I'd put my best foot forward and only put the spiffiest things forth first. If you all show enough interest, I'll put some more out. agnusdei.sib agnusdei.mid quintet.sib quintet.mid thestarspangledbanner.sib thestarspangledbanner.mid

  5. Hmm...methinks "Gratias agimus tibi" is a bit too blatantly lifted from the Gloria of the Bernstein Mass. :P Half the people are drowned, and the the other half are swimming in the wrong direction... Interestingly, I just sang a contemporary (but unironic) Gloria in choir, and the section you're about to reach in your work was set to an almost absurdly lyrical lullaby-like melody. Perhaps you can have the soprano soloist do something along those lines, and have the baritone do...I dunno, whatever she isn't doing. Man, now I want to do a mass. Dang you for inspiring me!
  6. I did a bit more of Let's Do the Fooka-Fooka. nimbus2.mid
