  1. thanks edwin it is still very much being touched up, the plan wasn't to sound like james bond but hey cool thanks keep the crits and feedback coming!
  2. this is a peice for a percussion ensmble of 5 or more players it has a latin section, with and blues to a ballad style and then back to the latin Not sure if this is the right forum but hey all comments appreciated Angus latin for percussion for 5.mid latin for percussion for 5.sib
  3. I was in a shop and some funky music was going on and when i asked what style it was, the dude said it was from the caribean, and i had these tunes in my head all day so i decided to write some of my own in a similar style, perhaps it didn't work out but hey, it's all good appreciate any crits or comments you have
  4. I really like this, and even though its simple its about what your ears like to hear ya? and i liked this the melody vocal line is raelly nice and maybe some parts off the horn lines are abit boring but thats all part of the fun, i find whenever where playing tunes it ends up being quite different from what we planned in this sort of ensmble
  5. A tune based on D mixolydian with a cheesy carribeen theme, perhaps as an opener or something its about my 3rd or fourth tune ive written, so i'd like some constructive crits and feedback thanks Angus carribeen.mid carribeen.sib

  7. Hi my names angus and im from melbourne australia I'm 16 and ive just finished a composition for my music class that was meant to be 8 bars in the style of mozart or handel or sculthorpe or metallica (for at least 3 different instruments) mine turned out to be 50 bars or seomthing. I chose mozart but then it went weird and now i have no idea what it is but it sounds ok to me but i still want some crits please:) This is my first attempt at orchestra as i have already done a few jazz standered style things but this was my first "major" although short piece I would appreciate some critiscim what could be improved etc thanks heaps Angus mozart_smells.mid
  8. I was hoping i could get some stories on how people went to come to get into writing for orchestra, Im generally an all round round music lover and have written several jazz standered style lead sheets etc that i hva eplayed with soem great succsess but am much more interested in writing for orchestra and such but have no idea where to begin, i can play piano at about a grade 3 standered but i am more of a percussionist/drummer style. Did most of you get compositional techers to teach you four part harmony or counter point or did you play piano to such a level you just knew everything? or did you get a massive amount of theory and justuse your knowledge? I'd appreciaite any comments cause i really would like to write for orchestra
