  1. Thank you!
  2. This work combines orchestral, African, Middle-Eastern, and synth-rock music in a contemporary praise song. I got the influence for this primarily as a result of a video games music concert in which I sang with my choir. There, I found out that music from video games that I never played can actually be exciting, and I decided to write my own song in the style of music from RPG video games. The vocal solo is inspired from the vocals in "Civilization 4", and is in a made up language, though it contains traces from some real-world languages. Authentic Praise
  3. This is my scary fantasy-themed song for Halloween this year. The work features my dad on strings my younger sister on guest vocals, as well as some unusual time signatures in certain measures. The Demons' Feast
  4. Thank you all for the comments and feedback, I'm sorry that schoolwork has kept me from responding earlier. I will be entirely honest and say that I do have an overactive imagination :) so I would not be surprised if you find the lyrics to be cheesy. I'll be sure to keep all of the suggestions in mind
  5. When listening to this song, I have sometimes thought that it may sound better ending after the organ. My original intention was to end in a similar mood as in the beginning in terms of instrumentation, though I see what you mean. Guitars and piano are real. The Drums are sampled, though they are played using an electronic drum set Via MIDI. Everything else is sampled and played using an electronic keyboard Via MIDI Thank you all for your suggestions and for thoroughly listening to this piece!
  6. thank you for your constructive criticism, I'll keep your suggestions in mind
  7. I do not actually know the song "Minnie the Mooncher", but I do admit to having been influenced by "Moondance". Glad you liked it :)
  8. Across The River.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage This is a jazzy song that tells the story of a couple who gets separated by unidentified raiders. It is meant to be performed at a western honkey-tonk bar in the middle of the desert. The song features my friend on clarinet. Enjoy, and as always, comments are appreciated
  9. I know of Dream Theater, but I have not actually listened to them. I know that this guitar doesn't have a particularly strong sound, as it is a cheap guitar, but if I get the chance to improve it, I will. Thanks for your advice
  10. Nice voice, very expressive and passionate! I also liked the instrumental solos, particularly the flute, and the soothing background the instruments provided
  11. Awesome metal piece! All of the instruments sound solid, and I liked the passion in the lead vocal! I think you used finger tapping well here, as many guitarists use it simply to show off, but in this case, it actually served a harmonic and melodic purpose. Enjoyed!
  12. Well done, I like this! I found that the orchestra did a good job of painting that planetary picture you described.
  13. Thanks for the welcome, and for pointing this out :) you can listen to it on Box.net here
