  1. I like the beginning with the flute and celesta(?) I like the melody and your instrumentation as well as your transitions. They work well. I really enjoy the way the instruments work together. I got the image of flying. The only thing I would say is that the ending seemed a little to abrupt, but other than that, I liked this a lot. Great job! :)
  2. I liked this piece. The beginning, as has been said, is very nice. Quite imaginative and lively. I liked the instrumentation. The sudden change of mood with the switch to a heavy brass dark sound and the abrupt end I feel didn't quite fit in with the rest of the piece. perhaps a d.c. al fine could help with keeping the mood or perhaps a slight variation of the main theme after the new mood so as to give this piece more of a definitive, convincing end that remains related to the rest of the piece? Overall this was excellent. :)
  3. A wizard, far diverged from his ancestors, and hoping to rectify his people's current situation, comes upon a music box chronicling the long history of the wizards, that holds within its mystical song both the high revels of discovery and the cold ruthlessness employed for power. In his discovery, the wizard experiences revelation and determination to avoid a similar fate. The Wizards Music Box Clean.sib The Wizards Music Box Clean.pdf The Wizards Music Box Clean midi.mid
  4. Andrew Thank you for putting time into this, and using good samples for this. I love it! :) It inspires me to continue my editing of this work. Thank you so much! ^.^
  5. Graham: Thanks very much! :) Rolifer: I see what you're saying definitely, and I never DID think about it that way...I'll be sure not to make the same mistake again. Thanks for your constructive criticism! :)
  6. Thank you for your comments and suggestions...:P I appreciate it very much! ^.^
  7. I don't understand...? How is this piece intimidating at all? I would appreciate your insight, and thank you for your compliment on the orchestration! :)
  8. This is piece has a very playful aura to it, I enjoyed that. It made me want to dance around in my seat. The piece however, did become a little bit repetitive I felt...Other than that, and the fact that this isn't finished, great job! ^.^
  9. Thank you! :) I will! ^.^
  10. The percussion to this piece was very fitting, as well as the way you used the strings. I liked the sort of call and response you had going on with the flute, strings and oboe in the middle. Also, the choir went well with this, never too overpowering, and only adding to the overall space of the song. As always, well done. :)
  11. Rolifer: Thank you for your helpful tips, I did not know how scores were presented usually, I will definitely keep that in mind, and you are right about the articulations and hairpins, it's just I usually do them last, and this IS a rough draft, to get the general idea across so I could hear some suggestions before I revise it for my portfolio. Thank you for your compliment, and even more for your suggestions! :) Thank You Michael for your comments as well! ^.^
  12. Thank you for your opinions, and if you could give any thoughts on the piece if you studied the score or even just listening to the midi (as awful as it may be) I'd be grateful. :)
  13. I really like this, it has lots of energy! One of the things is that in the beginning, I would use less cymbal, cause it sort of distracted me....I really like the restatement of the melody in the trio, as well as liking the melody itself. I also liked the section after the trio, with the bass drum, and the modulation to minor...(I can't remember what that section of the march is technically called). I also liked the acceleration at the end of the piece, before it cut off. I liked where it was going..:) Finish this! ^.^
  14. I really like the song, you should definitely finish it off! Nice Work!
