  1. I think, my best composition for orchestra is "Suite Symphonique II" I submitted on june this year (large ensemble: suite symphonque II). It's the third movement of my piece previously called "Thanatos II".
  2. my website is: http://musique.edilia.fr

thanks for compliments! this movement of "Thanatos II" carried of the first prize "ex aequo" from "musicomposer"'s ( a french site like "youngcomposers") spring 2010 composing competition. Next time, for the second movement, I will publish the score with english names. My own site is: http://musique.edilia.fr
  4. this is the first movement -adagio- off "Thanatos II"; It's an imploration supposed to lead the audience to conciousness of death."Thanatos II" adagio Thanatos II Adagio
  5. For this work, I used expander SONY JV 880
  6. the challenge was to write a classical polyphonic allegro. I hope you will enjoy it! link for MP3 and score: http://musique.edilia.fr
  7. usually string quartets have at least 3 movements, but, for instance, Beethoven's XIV th has 7 movements. So you have a large way for your inspiration...
  8. quick transitions between pizz and arco are usual. Sometimes pizz and arco are playd together!
  9. this movement "presto", is my first attempt to high speed. You may compare with Bartok's second movement "prestissimo" second string quartet MP3 and pdf score: http://musique.edilia.fr
  10. the score of this "allegro", 5th movement of my string quartet: http://musique.edilia.fr
  11. sorry, my score is a pencil score. you will find a pdf - score for my "divertissement" for violin and piano
  12. "Allegro" for string-quartet is the fifth movement of my string quartet. It may be considered as a scherzo, but I rather feel it like a rapid gipsy dance. The structure is ABA.
  13. "scherzo-valse": I apologize for the brutal interruption! It is not finished and I hoped for some (positive)commentary which would encourage me to continue... "saltarelle": the end of this dance does not satisfy me and here also, I need commentary.
  14. I tried to realise a complete and clear orchestration and you will find the nomenclature of instruments on my website Musiques composes par Franois Duhamel/Musical pieces composed by Franois Duhamel This orchestral movement is alltogether optimistic, dancing and lyrical, with soloist's interventions in melodouis passages. It ends in a whirling dancing manner.
  15. This composition has been inspired by the theme composed by Thomas de Celano (who died around 1250). This theme has been developed by many composers, but always in a tragical manner, while I trie to use it in a peaceful and hopeful manner. The theme is litterally enunciated by the harp in the midst of the composition.
