  1. Thanks for all the positivity guys :) allesandro - You're right, it's kinda over the top dramatic for what the film is, I guess it was just my personal take on the film. There's lots of ways of going about it, and I found it interesting to see what some of the other guys who entered the competition did with it.
  2. Cool piece POW! Definitely sounds kinda medieval RPG, very nice. Bit more variation in the percussion might be good. But the other parts are great!
  3. Thanks!!
  4. awesome work john. I would say quotation rather than plagiarism on bach and zimmer! You've definitely made them your own. The production is top-notch, and the whole thing sounds fun and interesting. Well done
  5. I thoroughly enjoyed this work. Fantastic melody, harmony and orchestration. You really nailed the wistful nostalgic feeling and your theme is just so good I'm feeling really jealous! Big thumbs up!
  6. No I didn't work with klochkov, it was a rescore for a competition. I mixed it into the video myself - music probably is a bit too loud.
  7. Thanks for your review jrcramer. Yeah I tried to incorporate some variations on the main theme eg a similar figure reappears in the bass in bar 27, then the triplets bringing it back in the middle. You're right bar numbers would help a lot I'll try and remember that next time!
  8. PDF Score posted now
  9. love it! Great writing all round. Well done
  10. This was my entry for the Ghent Film Festival Composition Competition 2010. I did not win the competition but decided to upload it here for criticism and feedback. The video with the music is on youtube here Administrators EDIT: The MP3 file wasn't working, I've just reuploaded it.
  11. A short piece for violin and piano. Etude in C major for Violin and Piano
  12. Thanks for the comments guys - yes cheeselord, I won't deny the deliberate reference to the BBC theme, I love that score by Andy Price! Yeah I did this a few years back when I was just getting into composition, it was my first ever score! So the samples weren't the best back then and I hadn't much idea about mixing. I've been meaning to rewrite some of the themes from the score as a suite, as there were lots of decent ideas in there but it was done very hurriedly, about 6 or 7 minutes of music in total, completed in a few days. Haven't got round to doing it up yet, but watch this space!
  13. This is the main title theme from a little amateur youtube series I scored a year or two ago. Theme from The Young Robin Hood
  14. A symphonic poem I wrote based on a suite of themes for a score to a historical fantasy film, material which will no longer be used in the final film.Hope you enjoy it. Symphonic Poem
