  1. Hello! I have created a very complex tool for creating Generative/Reactive music. Link to the generative/reactive music tool Descriptions of all the parameters are currently missing, but the basic idea is as follows: The state machine executes one action at a time until the current harmonic rythm is over. Then it executes the "on_done" action where state transitions can occur. The controls to the right are dynamically constructed by the <parameters> in the XML-stuff to the left. The parameters control how the music is generated. Click the "Stop/Reload" button to read any changes in the XML-text. Have fun!
  2. Sure you can post a link! I'll put your voicing suggestions in my todo. Thanks! I am mostly developing the ear training game at the moment and this application gets very little attention.
  3. Thanks for all the comments! I will look into all these issues as soon as possible. I will probably add custom chords to the program later. I have also decided to create a separate ear training game that is supposed to make the training more fun and challenging. I will use my generative music software to create variation in the exercises. More information will come when I have something to show :)
  4. I added chord sequence/progression training and fixed some more sound issues.
  5. I have made some changes that are supposed to make the sound work. Give it a try if you want to! You should see a version with four tabs: Intervals, chords, scales and intervals sequences. If this doesn't work I'll have to make it into a normal program/signed applet instead (or use Flash).
  6. This seems to be the most common problem with the program at the moment. I think I have found the problem but I haven't fixed it yet. The strange thing is that it shouldn't work at all at the moment since the Applet isn't signed, but it surely works for some of us :) That Musictheory.net is where I started out. It is a great site. Another ear training tool with many options is the LenMus program (lenmus.org) which is also free.
  7. Hmm, I'll probably fix a Midi setup form so one can select the Midi-out of the application. Then you can also send the output to a better synth than the default :)
  8. Thanks for trying it out! bryla: What version of Java plugin do you have? It might be the case that I don't properly set the requirements for the plugin and then the auto download doesn't work. nikolas: Thank you for all suggestions! I plan do add custom/preset "challenges" or mini games that you can play where the difficulty increases and you have a certain percent correct or something. Good idea with the point reduction for multiple listening! Custom chords is also something that I want to add together with inversions.
  9. Hello! I am developing an online free ear training application that I want to make as good as possible. It is available here: Ear Training Applet Now I want to add features that users care about. Do you have any suggestions for excercises that you want but aren't available anywhere else? I would for example like the following: * Identification of specific interval sequences * Id. of chord type sequences * Id. of effects (filter slides etc.) * Id. of melody + chord types (+ effects + melody harmonization) Any of these that you find useful?
  10. The upness controls the "embellishment" of the harmony and the melody. If upness is high, the notes tend to go more up the scale and so on. I agree that the MIDI is quite terrible, but one can build a better soundbank perhaps? The music reacts slowly because it generates a whole measure at a time and I am simply appending a track with events which gives a certain lag. Also, there is a smoothing factor to prevent sudden changes. However, all of these problems will be taken care of in future iterations. Have any of you tested cgMusic? (edit: I saw that you already have discussed this in the forums. Sorry :) ) I ask because my next step is to try and make adaptable versions of some of the scripts in that program.
  11. Yes, manouvering is a bit difficult without steering assist but I have developed that as well and that makes it much easier indeed. And yes, the graphics is the next big thing for me after I got a reasonable good music system running. There is also a complete level editor available here but that does not currently include any music module. It will include that module eventually and make it possible for users to set different parameters for the music generation and give their own levels unique music!
  12. Hi, I am not sure if I should post this here but here it goes: I am currently developing software for dynamic generative electronic music and I have some primary results in the following Youtube-video: It is all crappy pure MIDI and it has a lot of other problems but I think that it has a lot of potential if I continue to improve it. What do you think? Please remove this post if it is not appropriate for this forum. I will not bother you again then :)
