  2. Hands down Db Major is my favorite key to compose and play in.
  3. Hmmm . . . My favorite lately . . . has to be "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, my favorite movements being Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, in that order.
  4. All I can say to this is W0W. What you have here has gone straight to the top of my favorite pieces list. I listen to it everyday and it inspires me in ways I can't convey. The atmosphere you created is just . . . indescribable by words known to the human race. The buildup to the piano solo is just so outrageously fantastic I can't contain myself from getting giddy every time I think about it hahah. The first time I listened to this, even though I was following with the score I was just flabbergasted the impact of the "cannon" has on my mind. I loved it beyond words. Thank you for gracing the world with your music Mr. Penkin. ~Derek
  5. Hello There Mr. RobinJessome, I just wanted to stop by here and say that I LOVED this. I am by no means intelligent in the field of Jazz, I wish I was, but I felt the need to offe rmy praises for this fantastic work:)
  6. Good Day Carlly Clabby, You're the first one I comment here on the forum. :) I really enjoyed your piece and I personally believe you captured the mood you described quite admirably. I must say the faster paced parts were my favorite and I also enjoyed the Oboe solos. One thing about your score and the structure of your piece that drew my attention majorly is that you seem to have a very very similar style to a concert band composer Steven Reineke. The slow foreboding intro leading to the quick paced B section with a slow 3/4 section in the middle followed by the random clarinet murmurings back to the driving section is really how Steven Reineke operates most of his pieces (e.g. Goddess of Fire, Symphony No.1: A New Day Rising, Mvmnt. 3: 'And the Earth Trembled,' The Witch and the Saint etc.). The way your score is set up also bears great resemblance to his scores. Also the use of "soar!" in the French Horn parts is a Robert W. Smith thing I noticed (and I quite enjoy seeing, for some reason, in scores). Overall you have an awesome piece here and I wish you the best with your publishing endeavors.
