  1. I've been away from the forum for quite a while, busy with work... During the past summer, being inspired by the fugue challenge thread I tried a lot of fugal writing. I also tried an atonal fugue. It's actually serial, strictly using a tone row and it's permutations. Check it out, I believe it's fairly successful. http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3740
  2. Her score is in non-transposed. The Eb is actually a F on the clarinet.
  3. *coughcoughbullshitcough* I'd love a recording of such wonderful singing technique. From high school students, nonetheless.
  4. This whole thing gives me the impression that we are talking about horrible sounds. Tenors cannot sing low C's. Even a grovel (which is not singing) is nearly impossible for that note for tenors. And if someone can sings low C's, there is no way they can sing the high "tenor" C's. More than likely it is a horrible scream. In that case I can sing to the Eb above that, and I'm a baritone. I'd love to hear a recording of vocalizing low C's below the staff up to high C's in the middle of the Treble Clef. No one can sing four C's. Hahaha, it makes me laugh.
  5. Pretty sure you're thinking of the wrong "C". Tenors can't hit that, it's below the bass clef staff.
  6. Google "primo pdf". It makes pdf's through the print command in any program I think.
  7. wow, a choral competition that does not need to include choir? I'm not sure how a lied is choral... Also no parameters? I think that's lame. It's like an "instrumental competition". Any style, any form, any ensemble, whatever. Way too open-ended for me, but that's just me. You guys have fun.
  8. My suggestion is to take a Bach prelude, manipulate it all to a hell and sign your name. Subtitle it "Replica whatever number".
  9. Thank you for your comments. Actually, I am mostly a "jazz" guy, but I have a clear goal for now. I'd like to eventually write original music and arrangements for school wind ensembles and jazz bands. This particular summer I'm focusing on counterpoint and lyric writing to develop my compositional skills. Plus, I really do love Mozart, and I thought this would be a nice start to writing for the orchestra, as this is a piece for a small orchestra. It consists of 2 flutes, 2 horns and strings.
  10. Well here it is, an unashamed attempt to mimick the Mozart style... I got the exposition done plus about 1/2 of the development. The development uses an nice little fugato section, and I have yet to write the second fugato which is to come during the development. This is considerable work for me, even though it's not ground-breaking. Symphony in F major, 1/2 of Mov. I oops, file's about 1/2 silence, I'll fix it eventually, but it's just a big file for now...
  11. Wow, "America of the North" has great composers????? I kidd, I kidd..... After all, didn't Alanis Morrisette write her own stuff???..... >_<
  12. Outstanding!!!!! Hot tempo. Love the ugly writing as far as the harmony goes. The recording is really cool too. Love the stop time tenor solo. The quarter notes are great. I appreciate the variety in the solo sections. Ooops got to go. More comments later.
