  1. First of all thanks for your thoughts :P. I didn't really focus on harmony first melody second or anything like that. I just tried to make somthing that was somthing like carrosil music (spelt wrong) with the traditional waltz oom pa pa sort of thing. I feel that there is some sufficent amount of melody between the chords, but then again i'm nowhere near experienced. As for the time signature, to me it sounded like 3/4, but once again i may be wrong. And yes I'm going to teach myself to compose with finale, i have heard nothing but good comments about their software. In theme B i tried to make an oom pa pa melody then take it somewhere else. Apparently it sounds like scraggy :P Thanks for your help and hope you got a little bit of satisfaction of listening to my first composition.
  2. Hi everyone. This is my first 'proper' composition that has a structure in it. I was influenced by fernando sor and carulli to write this piece, which i think is not as good as many people on here but I haven't been composing for very long (about a month) and decided what people here think of my music. I had alot of trouble trying to do a valid ending at the end of my piece but could only come up with what is on the file right now. I made this in FruityLoops in the step sequencer, so if you open this with silbelious and it looks very weird, i'm sorry, but i'm not currently used to proper notation yet, which i know i will have to eventually learn. Tell me what you think. waltz in C major.mid
  3. Thanks guys for the encouragement, It must boil down to that intelligence is not so importent if you love music and keep training at it. Have a merry christmas.
  4. He probably started composing when he was very young. And to mark, you say it dose, yet you told me to check out creationist's sig... Which mozart says it dosen't matter. I'm so confused... It hurts being stupid.
  5. Could you please make a midi of this ?
  6. Could you please make it into a midi ?
  7. Hi it's me again, that guy who is very paranoid. I got an official IQ test done today, and I got a rude shock... Turns out it was 101, which is fairly low. Not that expected anything more... But, is it likely that i will never make as good music as someone with a higher IQ? Since composing dose require some planning if you want it to be a really good piece. Being the emotional paranoid person i am, thinking about this discourages from composing. It might seem silly to some people, but it's a fairly big worry to me, what do you think?:D
  8. I could imagine someone doing the kossak dance to this :w00t: Fun piece. (i'm half russian).
  9. Lmao, at 1:19 i think somthing not nice happened to Mr fly :w00t:
  10. Collage student+musician= would be very poor.
  11. Sure, people have an advantage (not always) when they start younger than you. But you shoulden't care, what about all those composers that died at a very young age that accomplished alot? Schubert (how ever you spell it) did alot for music before he died. Hopefully, you will live longer, and plus you get to experience music alot more longer than most, and compose alot more since you have lived so much longer, which makes up for them starting when they are young. Sure there are people who live to be old and started at 4 years old, but you're pretty young yourself.... Composition comes from the heart.
  12. That's the album i own :P I know he makes alot of jazz music, but he dose have a different way of making music.
  13. Well I am interested in the traditional styles. I'm a huge fan of fugues, and i like how the voices talk to each other, i find that it would be a fun way to compose. I play electric guitar, and i know how to compose a song to how i want it like a blues shuffle etc. But it's not that i think forms are importent and that it HAS to be done. I just find the forms fun, and makes a piece more thematic. That's why i want to learn how to make a sonata, fugue etc.
  14. I think it's because you're comfortable and can relate alot more with people around here. Why would you act unmature when you are trying to share somthing you love with someone? I don't believe it's intelligence, because I'm mature, and my fridge is smarter than me.
