  1. I loved Moderato. Wonderful atonalities and a really nice sound. Allegro felt to contrasting though. The atonalities of this one felt awkward and out of place amongst the mostly tonal structure. Just my opinion, though I really liked Moderato :)
  2. Really nice! ending felt somewhat abrupt and took me by surprise but overall it was pretty good
  3. Thanks for the responses guys! It's definitely pretty unsettled but the main theme repeats a little bit. I might try and rewrite it someday
  4. Wow. Very good. Thank you for uploading this, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Some of the transitions were a little abrupt, such as 0:36, but the themes were great and you developed them wonderfully. I felt you overused the broken chords a bit, particularly near the end which I didn't love as much as the rest of the piece. Overall though, it's pretty amazing... In particular I liked your main theme, especially the part at 0:08. I also loved the little snippets of minor sequences like at 0:55 that not only contrast well with the major chords but also draw from the same feel as 0:08. I wish I was as good as you :) ... by the way, good luck with the competition ;)
  5. Thank you very much for the feedback. I really appreciate your analysis :) I agree with a lot of what you have to say and some of my linking of ideas is a tad dodgy ;). It definitely feels a bit rushed, never dwelling on anything for very long, but I'm struggling to connect themes and make it convincing :hmmm: Thanks a ton!
  6. Is it suppose to have all the pitch bends and static!? Sounds sorta like what my bloody valentine would write if they were all given keyboards Something tells me it's not suppose to be like that and that there's some sort of error with the mp3 file ... but seriously you should keep it like that it sounds epic
  7. Hey guys, this is my 2nd composition. Im only 15 so go easy on me :) I would really love some help naming this thing as unfortunately the school assignment I have composed it for requires the composition to carry a title a little more creative than composition II... Don't worry if you can't think of a name, feedback on the peice is also much appreciated. Thanks! :D Help me name my composition :D edit: Just uploaded the score for those who are interested :)
  8. Hi guys. I really have no idea what I am doing here as I have no experience whatsoever with sampling etc. I am trying to pair the old Garritan Personal Orchestra 2004 with Sibelius 5. I believe GPO came with Kontakt player 1. Is this possible or do I need to buy something else. I have no idea so a step by step guide or a link would be wonderful. Thank you very much! :phones:
  9. Wow! thanks! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it
  10. I really liked the middle section where you introduce the minor chords. I think that part is easily the most unique and enjoyable section of the piece. The last half of the piece in particular was too repetitive and the left hand became uninteresting fairly quickly. I didn't like the very last section. It sort of lost direction and sounded out of place. Fortunately the middle section saved it and i think that part has a lot of potential . Overall I enjoyed it. Great job!
  11. Wow amazing. I assume this is an audio recording? I wish I had a tenth of your talent!
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys! I really appreciate it
  13. Thanks! I confess that I wrote a piano piece before this one but I would much rather forget that it ever happened. There's just something about it that really bugged me, so I started over with this composition. It doesn't fit overly well with the video because I started writing the piece before I found the video! :) ... then I sorta worked them together but yeah, it doesn't fit in a few places. Thanks for the feedback! I will certainly check out the forums and try to give others some feedback although I feel a little amateur to be commenting on the works of others at this stage ;)
  14. Hey Guys. This is my first ever composition and first post on these forums. Im 15 so go easy on me! I really don't know what I'm doing :) . I wrote this piece for a school music project. It is accompanied by an edited extract from an old Mickey Mouse cartoon. Feedback would be awesome! thanks. Oh and also, I use Sibelius on my mac and I was just wondering if there is any better software that contains more realistic instrument samples, particularly when composing for solo piano as it sounds rather robotic and flat. thanks!
