Hi Nikolas, I do totaly agree with you and Igor. When we assimilate technics or musical ideas, we can use them and make them ours. Each time I hear music, I learn something, my brain steal concepts ! This how I progress. Max

Obscene Obsession for Full Symphonic Orchestra
FFA_Maximus replied to nikolas's topic in Major Works Archive
Hi Nikolas. About your question "did you enjoy it? Yes or No? Why?", I will try to answer simply. I love very much the other music you have done. I am one of your fan. But with this one, I can say I don't enjoy it. Why ? I am not sure. This music doesn't touch me, it is that simple. Why ? I think that the reason is because I am not familiar with this style of music. The other compositions you have made was more easy to understand. Of course that doesn't mean that it is not good music. It is just something I can't understand, maybe too modern. The melody was not clear for me, and this is for me an important part of music. Depending of our musical knowledge and experiences, we are able to understand some music and not others. This is the case for me here. It is difficult to say really why I don't like it, maybe the simplest reason is that I do not understand it. I do not understand what you wanted to share. I hope this comment will help. Maximus -
Hi ! I do totally agree with you. The question is an important question, and it is not just a music question. It is a question about art and about why artists makes arts. For me, it is an evidence that artist has no choice but to create. Do you really think that we have a choice ? Hearing music all time in our head is not a choice. It is an expression of our feelings, emotions, thoughts, an expression of beeing human. And if we have the chance to be able to transform it in music, we should do it and share it. Each composition is a part of what we really are. Maximus

Hi ! Your music is really really GREAT ! I love it very much. It touched me a lot. In how many time have you made it ? Since how many time are you composing ? Best moments for me : 0:32 : something happening 0:43 : wonderfull voices, very peacefull 1:10 : best moment for me : could you share that part of the score ? This sound is great It remember me Lord of the ring a little. 3:33 : remember me Spiderman, don't you ? At the end, I would have appreciated to have the begining theme with variation maybe. (Just personal taste) The end is not really a "end". I love the action of all the track. The sound is very good too, please, tell us what software you are using. I understand what you mean when you say it is fascinating. I feel the same sometime for my music. Nothing is more beautifull to express perfectly a feeling, and this can be done with music ! When we success to do it, it is heaven ! You can be proud of your track ! Thanks for sharing. I will listen it very often. It is one of the best music published here. Thank you, Max PS : sorry for my bad english

Domini's Composition Dump
FFA_Maximus replied to Ephorus Domini's topic in Orchestral and Large Ensemble
Hello, Welcome to our group. I like very much your music, especially "Ruins" which is very good. I like how the instruments are coming slowly. The progression is very good. And you succeeded to create an atmosphere in most of your tracks. Since How many time are you composing ? Thank you, and welcome again. Maximus -
Hi ! It seems that most of us have the same problem. Here are my solutions, it may work for you. Most of my best musical ideas are coming during dreams, so I understand why it is important. We can listen complete work which is just disappearing when we wake up. But, there a moment, just before you are awakening. During this moment, you are between dream and consciousness. The "tip" is to stay in that "phase" as long as possible. When I stay in that moment, I can listen, and listen again, so I memorize what is "happening". The thing is that you can train yourself to do that. With more training, you can "compose" during this phase too, and stay between dream and consciousness. This moment allow you to access powerful resources. (Like a supercomputer) It is not easy, but if you practice each day, you will do better and better. When you are in that "phase", you have to try to listen many time the music, so it will be recorded in your memory after wake up. Another thing is to concentrate on the music; you should not begin to think about what you are going to do after wake up! Most of the time, now, I remember very well the music of my dreams. My brain is working all night, I am sure about this!! I have a Pocket PC near my bed for the recording. So, after wake up, I just have to sing in my Pocket PC. It works better if I sleep at least 8 hours, you should sleep enough if you want this to work. You have to train a lot, because a part of the

Fantasie for Celeste and Orchestra
FFA_Maximus replied to Matt058's topic in Orchestral and Large Ensemble
Hi! I just hear it and I like it. I used the midi file because my Sibelius version was too old. (which version do you have?) I was totaly immerged in a new world with your music, thank you. The introduction is good, and everything until bar 118, maybe it is my midi, but there is more confusion after this part. (Or maybe it is the choice of the instruments) I love how dynamic is your music, the melody is going somewhere and I was always "curious" about "whats is next?", and "what is going to happen?". It is never boring, I have heard it many times. The use of the Celesta is perfect for this hypnotic melodie. Good choice. Orchestration is good before 118. If you have a mp3 file, I will be curious to hear your version? It could be good in a movie or a video game, I think, because there is suspens, rythm, fast and slow action. It is a very original work, I have never heard something like this! Can you post more of your work? Good job, Max PS : sorry for my bad english -

How do you come up with a good Theme?
FFA_Maximus replied to Will Kirk's topic in Composers' Headquarters
Hello !I am composing melodies in my head all the time too. It is new for me, it happened 2 years after I decided to take singing lessons. I am now recording all the melodies which are played with my computer in wave format, and I am learning piano to play them too. I have some questions for you : do you record everything ? How do you sort your melodies ? Thanks, Max -

Hello, I just felt in love of your music. This is a great day for me, I am very happy to met a great composer. There is so much creativity in what you have done. Thank you for the link of your website. The one I prefer is Distant Universe, a real "Chef d'oeuvre". Do you have a longer version ? (The begining is amazing !) Your music is exactly what I love: I Love your style, the orchestration, the choice of the instruments, and the atmosphere you create. Since how many time have you studied music ? Do you play an instrument ? I have seen that you sing in your web Site, could we hear your voice ? I can assure you that you will have a great futur in music composition. Max, Paris. PS : Sorry for my bad english, I am french. -
Hello, I like it very much. I love your voice very much too ! ( I am a singer too, but with a bad voice) The emotions in this song is clear and I think I have understood it, so that is cool. I like the rythme too. I am very curious to hear your voice in a recording studio, if you have some other recording, tell me. If you have a midi file, I would enjoy proposing you some arrangements or variations. (I am not a professional, just a beginer), Max PS : Sorry for my bad english, i am french.
