  1. This was some really pure bullshit, stuff that i can make just by placing random notes in the musicprogram....Some really ugly scraggy you made here. Really dont know why you are choosen as one of the recommended pieces to listen to....
  2. There is something here that reminds me of a popsong with piano arrangement, but its kinda more that a popsong. a musical or something like that. because its not so simple in structure and progression. its nice to listen to also. get that feeling ive just seen a movie i like and it has an happy ending, but still i get a little sad because its over and this song is in the credits nice work! is this a musicprogram playing??
  3. Its nice! its not very challenging harmonicaly, it also has this calming feel with the halfnote + two 8ths You could have maby dropped the repeat and just made a little "quote" from the beginning instead of the whole thing. but it not crucial. And the piano cadenza was nice too, really like the first bar, quite romantic (that bar XD). i cant find anything to complain about, i could prefer to not have the 3rd in the dominant in cello/bass but its not a big deal, it would sound better live. Nice job!
  4. love your ending chords! i use some similar often! i like it very much. its like jrcramer said, its a mixture. i cant add anything of importance other then that i liked it goodgoodgood
  5. You have a very good ear for harmony! very romantic! goodgood! enjoyable !
  6. Its not cheesy, its very good i tell you. really romantic and flowing! good work! nice with the doublestops in the cello, it makes the point clearer some times. I really like making romances myself, and its nice someone else doing it also If you want, make another one for violin also! maby i can play it
  7. Hey. you have your peak a little after midways, then you build up a little again then falls down to an end, right? I cant say too much about the melody/harmonies because i think im too old fashioned. you build some moods here too, its really more moodmaking with the soundcolors from the instruments than using normal harmonies to express yourself, right? With a modern view of music id say this is very good! I would be interested in a variation piece by you. you seem to have a sense for advanced rythms keep it going
  8. Why can you never make a bad piece of music!? It seems like you never run out of ideas. good good good! "...what can one say but, "Berlioz".
  9. hey, you posted this on my birthday! :) Im a big fan of string quartet as an setting of instruments, so i always take time to listen to other composers quartets. Its pretty useless that i try to review this, because im an oldfashioned guy when it comes to tonality. Trying my best i say its inventive. you use very hard passages in the 1st violin and some in the 2nd and viola (not that much in the two last mentioned) and cello is quite ok. very dreamy and at times a litte creepy :P I like the ending though. It could fit really good in an ending seen in a abstract movie, where the picture freeze and the ending music starts. im sorry i could not say so much about your piece.
  10. The last chord in violin. why do you have the A as the lowest note in the chord. it will sound much better with an E there. If you play violin you`ve probably put it there on purpose, but if not, its better to make the lowest note there an E :)
  11. hmmm
  12. Have you played heroes 3 (computer game) ;)?? it would suit the humancity there, the beginning atleast. i like the horns and snare effect also. you have the dominant in minor, befor it goes to major, then tonic. thats quite inventive! nice coda at the end too. Eventhough i would like a real dominant befor the end!
  13. Wow, thats very jazzy. you have some really good moments when you have this very lightfooted parts. like 2:25! i would like even more of that! At times it sound allmost like pop chord wise. And the first chords remind me of mozarts requiem: introitus! i know its just basic chords, but its cool they youve got them and make them into yours. Good job as always ;) do i need to say that anymore??? hahah
  14. Since this is a funeral march i do like the very long parts from about 5- the end...its like the chest is being sendt to the graveyard. But i didnt like that you put the peak of your march at the beinning...why not just cut a little down on the very long part from 5min and out, and but in some of the beginning at the end, so you get a climax at the end...that would make it more dramatic. you get what im saying? Like a big chord at the end! or fanfare. but its your piece! Very good. i like how much more mature this is than your other works. It has that true late romantic symphony feel to it. good orchestration too! Good job as always ;)
  15. This kinda like a scherzo you know! You dont get the feeling of an overture, but more like the beginning og a disneyfilm or some cartoon. you have that upbeat thing like you do in most of your scherzo, maby thats why its seem like a scherzo? i dont know. You got nice peaks, and ummm...interesting orchestration;) Good work, as allways!
