As a graphic artist, I really enjoy displaying my graphics in my signature. However, this option seems to be pretty much disabled, apparently, along with putting anything into a signature more than 3 lines. I know what the admins are trying to prevent. However, I don't think it's really fair to be so restrictive of something for all members simply because of the possibility that a few might get obnoxious. And I think a simple restriction on the size of signature display could be substituted for the restriction on signature lines. love dani dude

Do You Enjoy the Current Site Design?
YugureIko replied to chopin's topic in Announcements and Technical Problems
1. What do you like? I like the layout design. The colors and the graphics are very calming and professional 2. What don't you like? The funky fonts in the top banner make it kind of cutesy and fun looking. However, it confuses me as far as intention of design. The rest of the graphics and color scheme for the forum appear to give an air of professionalism. I think the funky text contradicts that. I know that was probably done to make the board a little less uptight, but it just confuses the intention of the rest of the set up. I just feel that something like this should shoot for one end or the other or right in the middle. Go for either totally professional or totally fun, or, if you wish to mix the two, find a fair balance instead of just slapping a funky font on the top banner. I also think that there are just a few too many forums. It's a little overwhelming and a little more extensive use of subforums and the like can help relieve a little bit of the clutter on the main board. 3. Would you visit more often if the design was more appealing? Probably not. I'm not that superficial. 4. Would a pleasant design affect your posting habits? I doubt it. 5. Did you think Young Composers was a bad site at first glance, as a first time visitor? No. I thought it was really cool and amazing that a site like this even existed! Overall, I like the lay-out. This is a really nice site. love dani dude -
otherworld is from ffx (it's Uematsu's only metal piece!) and that's funny, Sorasen! it's your ringtone? ^_^ You can't see me, but i'm laughing my butt off right now! love dani dude
-
Wow, really? I really just wanna hear all of one winged angel for once. But that is cool... Maybe he'll remix Other World! lol.... that's stupid but the song is sweet! ^_^
-
ok, calm down! i didn't post this to start an argument! though i'm not obsessed nor in love with him... lots of songs give me goosebumps it's just his do more so than most others. but either way, all music is to die for so just please stop freaking out over this! love dani dude
-
Amen! lol! I loved that one! (the metal one which i think is called "Other World"!) tee hee! oh and i think i've heard a small clip of one winged angel and it sounds amazing (as usual!) Almost everyone of his works has given me goosebumps as thus far... another good one is "To Zanarkand".......... and Seymour's theme! that one was cool! I'm gonna calm down, now! lol! love dani dude

i think you and I will be getting along quite well, Sorasen-sama! ^_^ but i'm sure Nobuo might've used other pieces for inspiration, but I'm sure he wasn't really trying to pleugerise! (spelling?) but i could never turn against this guy's addictive works! All his songs keep the final fantasy scores quite well rounded. I really like the fact that he doesn't stick to one type of music with a closed mind. He's a genius, though inspired by others! I love Uematsu-sama! love dani dude

lol, cavatina! and yes, my avatar is Uematsu, thank you! oh and one thing, Wolf 88... my windows media player won't play the file... is there some kind of codec i have to get rid of? this is so frustrating. i'm still trying to write aditions to the song but... eh not much luck! thank you, everyone for all your help! ...oh god! i was looking at the piece again... and i think i messed up... just a sec, i'm gonna look at it again... yep, ok the second measure before the "%" sign all the notes except the last are sixteenth notes! I'm so sorry!! *Cries Hysterically* love dani dude

well i understand that this piece doesnt sound THAT asian, however it is my very first piece, and i just wanna know if anyone thinks it sounds good or not. just for the record i'm not extremely learned in the art of music (i'm only 14 and some of your words are new) though i think i kinda understand the pentatonic scale but anything i don't understand, i can figure out on my own. (i sound like such a musical bone-head! lol! oh well! practice makes perfect...) and thank you all VERY much for your help, i very very very much appreciate it. oh and spc1st i'll have to ask my director if there's anything he can offer, however my family isn't in the best point as far as financial issues go, and we don't have anything to record my song with. so that'll probably be a while... so please be patient and check back from time to time, just in case i get it any sooner than i believe i will. thank you all again! love dani dude

ok... here is My Song ok! i'll just tell you my mistakes before you can tell them to me and some of my own thoughts on the piece... well first of all! I'm sorry it took so long, i kept messing up and having to rewrite it a million times and it still looks sloppy (and the ink-over sucks! i got into a fight with my pen the other night, and i'm still angry at him! so don't go too far with me, today, okay?... (lol)) okay at the end of the fourth and fifth measures the bars are a bit lighter than the others... just to let you know! and at the beginning of the seventh measure that's a quarter rest and at the end of the third to last measure, as well! having trouble making something else out? just ask me... trust me i have the piece memorized... ok now to some slightly more important stuff! okay this piece is a very basic twidle (and what can you conclude from first glance? that's right! apparently, i like slurs! lol!) anyway, it's pretty much incomplete... and it's for the clarinet.... so if you wanna try to play it on a different insturment, you may have to take it up or down a few octaves... either way... i was thinking about putting some fast and exciting notes between the intro and the first strain as well as after the first strain, but i'm having some trouble with that part... (help!) oh and..... you ALL confused the heck out of me!!! but from the words that i COULD understand... i gather you speak of playing the piano which i do not know how to do! i want to learn, but have no piano of my own nor does my family have the money for lessons... so that's pretty much a lost cause for now! well tell me what you think! please! love dani dude

i know they don't really work outside very often but they are still extremely pleasing to the ear (especially my personal favorite: Suteki Da Ne!) another one of my favorites is Liberi Fatali!... I've never played ff7 so i haven't heard one winged angel... but Nobuo said he was sorta trying to combine Strovinski with Jimmie Hendricks ((spelling? on both names! lol!)) love dani dude

This is one of my favorite composers! i know he composes songs for games but that almost increases his genius in my eyes, at least! some may not even be familiar with his work! He has composed hundreds if not thousands of pieces of music in his life-time as thus far for the video game series final fantasy. he has also composed pieces for the vid. game series Chrono Trigger, and the entrance theme to the Anime Ah! My Goddess. and every tune seems to just stick to me! i'll find myself humming a tune of his almost anywhere at anytime! i get them stuck in my head but not in a bad way: in the best way possible! does anyone like his compositions? love dani dude

OH! thank you both SO MUCH! you have no idea how much that helped me, cavatina! oh and what is the parallel fifth rule? sorry, i probably sound stupid asking that, but knowledge comes only when asked! i think i've heard of these things but i'm not exactly what you might call an "advanced" musician... i'm almost finished writing down what i've got and i'll let you see it once i do! then maybe someone could tell me if it's any good or not! thank you all again! love dani dude

ok! hello everyone! my name is Danielle (but most people just call me Dani!) I am 14 and have just started composing minor twidles with my clarinet in band. One of my major problems is that i have to draw the staff, notes, and key signature with a pencil on the back of my march sheet music and fingering charts! i was just wondering if there was a simpler way to write down my notes! my second problem is that i am stuck on a song of mine that is very japanese sounding (at least i think so! and lots of my songs will probably mimic eastern culture as much as i can make them so, because i love von and other asian (but mostly japanese) songs! + ) and i was wondering if I could get some suggestions. but this'll only be possible after my first question is answered! i have a few more minor problems but i'll wait to post those! thanks for any help! i very much appreciate it! :P love dani dude
