  1. hey, Just heard it and thought it sounded pretty good, and baroque. haha, and I know how frustrating finale can get....my only comment might be that the basso continuo gets annoying with its ta-na sound...haha I dunno if that makes any sense, but it seems to keep repeating too much of the same thing. Also maybe some ornaments won't hurt..I looked at the sheet music, but nothing too in depth, so Cant give any serius harmonic feedback. overall it sounds pretty good, (y)(thumbs up)
  2. hey, Just heard the lento one... wow nice job! hehe, Although I have to agree and say I did not like the introduction as much either...=P it has a celtic/jazzy sound to me,, not sure, but a familiar sound, and I like it, especially the returns to the main theme that happen, they occur so smoothly and get a "oh nice!" reaction. hehe, my only problem with it might have been, that I did not understand it's point...lol I know that doesnt make sense, and it could be because I havent heard the other two movements, but...it sounded like a showpiece/happy marching down the road song to me...bot sure if that makes any sense...hahaa, but liked it!
  3. hey, lol...wow When I clicked on the link to listen I did not expect what I heard...and I liked it, it has a funky sound, and does indeed remind me of stravinskies rite of spring...I personally do not like that type of music(I think stravinsky's rite of spring gives me a headache...but just my opinion). lol Although it might need some polishing up...I mean some parts sound really really good, but others seem more like fillers.. like from 0:45 the pizz. starts to sound like random notes are being played...btw I am a beginner composer too, so keep in mind this is a beginner's opinion..hahaha I like how the section from bar 21 begins, alot! lol but the Double bass seemed to me like it started a little random too.. but slowly becomes less random...I am not sure if you did that on purpose or not...but yea.... well I dunno if this will help, but its a listeners prespective, and overall I liked its funky sound, felt like I was in a jungle, and then in a horror movie! hehe, alright tc,
  4. hmm. lol thats a very good point! lol, Maybe I'll try and see what I can do then...a trio will be tougher to put together though, but I think its a pretty good idea! any criticism though, since in order to add the third voice, I probably need to complete these two instruments first. The thing is the last time I tried adding an extra voice, the piece I tried it on became too busy, and lost some of its....atmosphere?? although with computer sounds not much of an atmosphere... haha,
  5. anabell lee.mp3 hey, I'm new to the forum, and am almost finished these two interconnected compositions, I am just having trouble fixing the transitions, and the endings, and other stuff.... The first one, Christine, is for Cello and Piano, I am stuck at 2:11, in which I wanna change everything after and somehow return to the first theme, lol, and the second, Anabell lee "funeral march", is for violin and piano. They are based on similar melodies, but I tried using them in different methods, I am still planning on adding one more for viola and piano, but having trouble with just sketching that one, hehe. I would appreciate any form of feedback/criticism. I only recently started composition, but have been improvising for about two years... I have no composition teacher yet, and would appreciate help of any kind. If anyone has the time to look at the sheet music for in detail criticism, I would be glad to provide it, and would be very gratefull!! Thanks Alot! christine.mp3 Finale 2009 - chrisucombined.pdf Finale 2009 anabell.pdf
