This year the Reveille Trumpet Collective, a group I founded with several other young trumpet players, has announced a composition prize. The Reveille Trumpet Collective, a new group devoted to innovative presentation of contemporary music, announces a 2011 Composition Prize. The winner will receive:
• $1000 (CAD)
• At least two performances by members of Reveille during the 2011-12 concert season
• A short video presentation promoting the winning piece
• A publishing contract with qPress.ca
(At the discretion of the jury, more prizes may be awarded.)
All composers born 1976 or later are invited to submit unpublished, unpremiered works for trumpet and piano of at least 5 minutes' duration. All submissions must be PDF format computer-generated scores (Sibelius, Finale, etc.) accompanied by a midi or mp3 realization. The scores will be anonymized by the contest coordinator prior to distribution to the jury. There is a $30 (CAD) application fee, payable by Paypal only.
