  1. Has a nice Mogwai mood, humorous but at the same time existentially contemplative.
  2. Very nice.
  3. A fitting name you have. It neither sounds like John Cage, nor was I implying that John Cage's music is boring. What I meant by suggesting John Cage's ears was the fact that he's very sensitive to sound. He says in pretty much every interview, "I just love sounds." And I was expecting people to comment on the lack of musicality in this piece, which is why I would recommend such a thing. So before you go on "defending" John Cage as though you're his most devoted fan, why don't you learn a little more about him.
  4. I second SYS65! However, no need to send me anything.
  5. The person that marches to this is going to look ridiculous. Just teasing. I think you accomplished what you set out to do regarding the sound. It seems like great warm-up material. I'm not a brass player, though, so I can't say whether it works well or not. Neat.
  6. Nice job working out a complete theme. I would not consider this Baroque music, haha. No sir. I like your use of silence at the rest around 1:30. I think you should use more of that in this piece! Lovely tune.
  7. I couldn't agree more with Ferkungamabooboo. :ermm:

  9. I was a little worried about this piece at its inception, but things tugged along nicely. It loses a bit of my intrigue around 1:50 through the repetition up until ~2:25, but thin the theme kind of sets in, albeit a little uncomfortably. Then, at 3:30, you're on your way to a lovely ending. I'm not particularly fond of your choice of notes for the solo cello. There are plenty of options regarding the tonal function. Even considering minor embellishments (Yeah, I know. It can be a hassle when working with MIDI) can add a little color or slight flavoring that makes it more worthy of standing alone.
  10. Another improvisation recorded a few years ago. Yeah, yeah. It's boring. Put on your John Cage ears for this one.Vanishings Vanishings

Just a little ambient track I improvised a couple years ago after having seen House of Flying Daggers, all of which was recorded with my guitar and Line 6 Pod 2.0. Also, I'm sure many of you, like me, will find this somewhat boring and lacking any form. Well... IT WAS IMPROVISED! Just try to enjoy it for what it is: noise. AZN AZN
  12. Yes, I hate MIDI too. :( I'm recording an album this November, so hopefully I can share better sounds with you and the rest of this network. Revolutionary, why do I care? I'm not too familiar with The Muse, but I can kind of hear the Porcupine Tree, I guess. I hear more ISIS in the beginning and then a hint of Agalloch toward the end. Thanks for your listening! Oh, and I became a fan of your work I'll comment later.
  13. I think it's hilariously ironic that you started with Mr. Freeze. Cool piece nonetheless.
  14. Jimmy, I absolutely love this, and I am, at times, a very harsh critic to myself and others regarding music. Bravo! Although it isn't finished, keep working at it. You MUST finish it. Well done so far is all I can say. I am in absolutely no position to give you advice as a composer/musician. :bows down:
  15. The ending is chopped off because Windows Media Player has a poor MIDI reader. There should be an additional 8th note at the end of what you hear in this sample, the note being the same as its consecutive few that play previously, as you can see in the score. Also, though it is without the vocal track and lyrics, this is a song for a "rock ensemble." I consider it one of my seminal works as a composer. I am very happy with it and see no current need to change anything. Swallowed in a Nebulous Reality Swallowed in a Nebulous Reality
