  1. What are your best 3 Piano concerti? (by any composer) Letehn - (or others) Can you please move this one to repertoire? Thank you kindly.
  2. At the moment I'm a bit obsessed with Rachmaninov and Scarlatti! :D
  3. Gould's Goldberg - always a pleasure to listen to. Both 1955 and 1981 versions.
  4. @J.Lee: Oh my - I don't think it would sound like that back in 1700 but that's the only version I have. I don't know any other. Checked out Horowitz Scarlatti collection 141 isn't there. Nonetheless, it's beautiful. :( @David - thanks for the link, I'll try and work it out myself from there.
  5. Who loves or plays this one? Piano or Cello. Which grade would this piece be for the Cello?
  6. I'd like to listen to this song I've downloaded from a site on my stereo but when I was trying to burn it on to the CD it won't work, need to be MP3 or .WAV file so I was wondering if any of you can help? either convert it or let me know which software I can use. Here's the file: Scarlatti K141 Merci bien
  7. Bah humbug! you only get really famous and 'great' 100 years after you die or commit suicide so tralala
  8. here's a pat on the back, you've done well so far regardless of other opinions. :)
  9. Spot on Letehn! Ta chuck! :)
  10. Any good links? I'm a complete newbie to this so I won't spend money on them programs just yet.
  11. I love Woman In White (the musical) to bits and there's this certain bridging passage just a few minutes long (perhaps 2 or even 1) which I'd love to play on the piano. I tried looking for the sheet music but since it's only a little twinkling that one of the character (Laura) did, it's not on there. The piano and voice book isn't even complete. Now I've found the right hand (melody) but can't figure out the harmony. Anyone here good with finding out them notes just by ear who can and is willing to help out, I would muchly appreciate. It's only short. I will post up the song (err...hope that's allowed). I'll try and cut to just that part too. Thanks pixies! PS: Not sure if this is the right board so please mods move if necessary. Ta chuck!
  12. Not just the musical theory bit but actually the art of composing and proper how to, something like a guide to write poetry (sounds a bit silly but helps loads)
  13. By 'composing' a variation on a song - would that be called proper composing?
  14. A definite yes if you're serious in the career.
