piano_player18 Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 Yeah. We believe he came around April. I don't know how it ended up the Christmas was in December...lol. A little bit off, but that is ok. As long as it is celebrated. Same thing with days of the week. Happy New Years!
Marius Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Sorry to all Christians who are ignorant of this fact (actually I'm not I'm just saying I am to prevent discussion later) but "Christmas" is in fact celebrated when it is because of its roots as a pagan festival celebrated in honour of astrological phenomena. So happy equinox instead.

So happy equinox instead. Lol...Regardless Christ + Mas (Birth) = Christmas (Christ's Birth) That's what it's all about. Doesn't matter too much how it started...lol...then again...maybe it does. haha :whistling:
piano_player18 Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 who care's WHEN we celebrate it? It's WHY we're celebrating it that matters. Amen. lol :)
Marius Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 who care's WHEN we celebrate it? It's WHY we're celebrating it that matters Exactly! Everybody loves an over-commercialized excuse for presents!
piano_player18 Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 Ah...as much as that might have been a joke...Christmas is not about gifts. ]\/[4 I'm guessing you're not a Christian... Alright...let's be nice now. (Not that you are really trying to sound mean.)
Marius Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Christmas is not about gifts. Riiight...of course not :) ]\/[4 I'm guessing you're not a Christian... Good guess, with powers of deduction like that it's no wonder you deduced that Christmas isn't about gifts; brilliant :P .
Marius Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 it's quite alright I am a bit slow. Well at least we're past denial... As for the rest, I'd refer you to a wonderful post by humnab below: Read This

piano_player18 Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Wow people! This has totally turned into something it should not have. All I wanted to do was to say Merry Christmas! lol Peace....let's have peace.
J. Lee Graham Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Anti-christians/religion/catholics.......................................................................................................................................suck more. God, I absolutely DESPISE this kind of ignorance. Why are you lumping Catholics in with anti-Christians? Catholics ARE Christians. Not only that, but they're the ORIGINAL Christians. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're either lying to you to further their own agenda, or they're ignorant of historical fact...and a LOT of so-called Christians lie like that. For centuries people who wanted to be Christian in their own way and not in the original, Catholic way have been trying to deny that Catholics are Christians because they find them a threat. At one time (500 years ago) they may indeed have been a threat, but not now. Get your facts straight before you start hurling hateful rhetoric around.
piano_player18 Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 May I request for this forum to be closed and deleted? It's getting a little out of hand.
J. Lee Graham Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 That wasn't clear to me at all. And I'm glad you know so much about him that you can set all that straight. OK, since I'm a moderator - much good may it do me - I'll close the topic.
Mike Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 The behaviour in this thread was ridiculous. ]\/[4, please kindly show some tolerance. All piano_player18 was doing was wishing everyone a happy Christmas, he was not initiating a debate on religion. Your instigating was unnecessary. If you want to discuss religion, take it to the Off Topic forum, or if it's going to get like this, the Free For All forum. Thank you.
