Kole Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hello everyone, I'm new here and just thought I would introduce myself. I'm a professional musician, guitarist, and instructor...I'll be moving to Los Angeles in a few months, but I currently live in Indiana. I've finished two years of Classical Guitar and Composition at Indiana University and I will be attending G.I.T. at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA this Fall. I'm also nearly finished with my debut album "Exile," which you can visit my site at Untitled Document to find out more. Thanks and its great to meet all of you! Quote
Abracadabra Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi Kole, Welcome to Young Composers forum. :D I'm new here myself, but I'm not so young. :) I play classical guitar a bit myself. I'm not a professional musician though, I just play for fun. I'm currently learning Bach's Gavotte en Rondeau written for solo violin. I have also learned the first prelude of his cello suites. Unfortunately other than those two major pieces (major for me) I really don't know much, just a few small pieces from a really ancient Carcassi classical guitar method book. I've really only been playing classical guitar for about two years. Although I used to play rock guitar like about a billion years ago in high school. Quote
robtheman5824 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Hi Kole, I'll give you another welcome to the board. Good stuff. I wish I could write something, anything for the guitar but sadly I don't know a thing about it. I just finished my second year of Composition at Texas Christian. I don't really know much else to say... I'll just kind of drift off..... Quote
tenor10 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Did you like Indiana? It's one of the schools I hope to go to. Quote
bob stole my cookie Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Did you meet my uncle? His name's Jeff Nelsen :whistling: Quote
Kole Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Did you like Indiana? It's one of the schools I hope to go to. Indiana has a Great music school and program. They have phenomenal classes, teachers, and peers to work with. The only reason I am leaving is because I like to compose and perform more than just Classical Music (which is IU's forte). However, if Classical music is your bread and butter, then Indiana University is a great place to be. Quote
Kole Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Did you meet my uncle? His name's Jeff Nelsen  I haven't met him personally, but one of my friends at IU is a horn player and he might have met him. Either way, he's definately well accomplished and I'm sure a great asset to the IU faculty. Quote
