healey.cj Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I want to know everything you can tell me about creating a good Orchestra Hit One of my favourite examples of the orchestra hit is seen very often in Stravinsky's work. As I write this I am predominatly thinking about the Firebird Suite (not sure which one) in the middle section. mmmm *Eyes glaze over* Also, Micheal Gandolfi has done a pretty good job of it (i think) in this piece: http://www.michaelgandolfi.com/II_Soliton_Waves.mp3 So, any particular way of voicing etc Chris :-) Quote
nojtje Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I'd say, i) figure out which pieces have orchestra hits that you like ii) get hold of the score iii) see how it's done iv) compare different voicings and the different effects they create v) use this knowledge to your advantage and adapt it to suit your own ideas Quote
