jacobshaw_sax Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Hi guys, currently a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music, I play sax and I am looking to widen my horizons and would like to collaborate with a composer to make some new and exciting pieces that take the sax in new directions instead of repeating the usual same old pieces week in week out! Anyone who is interested definately give me a shout..what have we got to lose?! Jacob Quote
James H. Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Hmm.... don't get many people looking for commissions around here. You caught me by surprise I daresay. :) I have very little experience with sax, but am a multi-instrumentalist, so the whole 'widening of horizons' deal sounds intriguing. I'm not always good at coming up with ideas quickly... sometimes it takes me a while.... Say, would you see any deadlines of any sort? Interest specifically in performance for a certain event? I'm not saying I'm 100% interested, I'm just lookin' for more details. ;) If you'd like... I could link you to some of my previous works.... see if it's anything near what you're looking for.... I'd reckon not, but it can't hurt me to show some interest, eh? Quote
Mark Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I can't say I'm the fastest worker, but I am incredibly interested in Saxaphone, and can already visualise some kind of one movement sonata for Saxaphone and Piano, with wildly chromatic harmony, lots of motivic development and a slightly jazzy feel... *rambles* If you're interested PM me ;) Quote
