M I GOING THE RIGHT WAY? PLZ HELP. Quote
Flint Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 If you don't play and instrument and don't know any musical theory, the only advice I can give you is to find a tutor in your area and start working. Quote
Tumababa Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I guess if you don't play an instrument you're just plunking down notes into your sequencer? Maybe try some melodies and see what you come up with. You also sound like you're hesitant because you're worried about writing something "wrong". Remember that with music there really is nothing you can do that is wrong(I'm talking big picture here). Of course if you're trying to write in a particular style there will be things that could be considered wrong(Parallel fifths in baroque music come to mind) but as long as you're writing YOUR ideas you should relax and let it be. Does that help? Quote

Marius Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Okay, first of all, please learn to write properly because it's extremely annoying to have to read whatever terribly-bastardized dialect of the language you're trying to use. Second, why don't you just get one of those other friends who are more musically inclined to score the film for you? Or get someone from this site to do it, I know there'd be lots of people eager to help you out. I just don't see the point in doing it yourself if you don't have the expertise or the time to work on it - you'd probably get a better product from someone else too, since their main focus would be the music. Just a thought, good luck with your project either way! :) Quote
