Rkmajora Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 This has been haunting me for years, and I don't know why I've never found the name out earlier, but I remember this early from my childhood. Isn't this Tchaikovsky? Man, for some reason I am really drawing a blank. I thought through all the Nutcracker pieces and I don't think this is one of them. This melody is completely gorgeous, and the composer is ultimately amazing, but if I only knew who it was, I could be sure. I had the name of the piece before, but I simply can't remember once more. (I don't know why I've forgotten it... I haven't had alchohol in a really long time.) What's the name and composer of this brilliant piece? (and yes I am calling it a song in the post title for general reasons. I'm not making another statement about the piece, but for all you or I know, it could have been a song. so there you go.) And I'm not sure if the first three notes of the melody are correct. Hell, I probably butchered the melody completely myself, knowing my creative habbits. I simply don't have knowledge beyond this point: Heres a midi I made from memory Quote
Uunlann Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 damn , now its my problem too. know the music,,, but don't know the name or composer . Quote
EldKatt Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Isn't it a part of the so-called "can-can" (really a galop) from Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld? Quote
xanic Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Mind if I hijack this thread? What's this song called? PDFs, MP3s & Videos :: Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH The beginning of the HALion Symphonic Orchestra demo. Thanks Quote
EldKatt Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Click "HALion Symphonic Demo" on the right and it'll tell you: "contains themes from Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" and Johann Strau Quote
xanic Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Yes... and I've searched but haven't found the part in either pieces. Maybe it's just made by Steinberg. Quote
Rkmajora Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Ah the song I posted is the beginning of "Can-Can" by Offenbach. I completely forgot about the rest of the melody. Thanks for the help. Midi of Can-Can from Orpheus of the Underworld by Offenbach Quote
