Hoontar Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hi, just trying to get some information on an American school. I know that Berklee college of music (Boston) has a good rep as being one of the better music schools offering many programs in contemporary styles (electric guitar ect.), but I was wondering how good their composition departement is supposed to be? Thanks Quote
Majesty Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Well, I went to The Boston Conservatory and spend a decent amount of time hanging around Berklee and at the time both schools had some cross over courses, I guess you could say. Anyway, if you are looking for Flim scoring/composition then Berklee is a good place to go. And, the same can be said for other forms of composition like, pop, rock, r&b, jazz, "world music", etc. I wouldn't recommend Berklee for true classical composition. In fact, I wouldn't recommend Berklee for anything truely classical. They do offer classical training but its not a strong when compared to the benefits of what they offer outside of the classical world. Hope that helps. Take a look at their website. It will give you a good idea. BERKLEE | Berklee College of Music Quote
