Guest CreationArtist Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 The deadline is November 30th for two tunes for a high school marching band to play in the stands. There won't be any big time restrictions some stand tunes are short or have both short and long versions that can be from 10 seconds to a minute. drums, winds, brass and sax, no pit.. have fun! the formats to be submitted are midi and mus
Mark Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 And if someone doesn't use finale, they can't take part? Why not widen things a little, so you still get a score and midi/audio, and more people can take part? How about a score (pdf/mus/sib) And a midi/mp3 ? That way more people can take part, as from most noation programs you can make a midi and a pdf (using a free pdf printer such as CutePdf Writer) and everyone will be able to see the submissions as there are free readers for pdf, mus and sib files available.
Guest CreationArtist Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 If you can't make a MUS submit a score...
Mark Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 A MUS is a score. Why not just ask for a score in one of the three aforementioned formats, for reasons already stated? Are you just being difficult for the hell of it?
Guest CreationArtist Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 anything is fine.. just post a score of some kind a MUS is preferred.
Trickshot Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I know in finale you can open midi's and see all of the parts written out. That's good enough for me to see. But I s'pose I'm not the judge here. :P Can we do arrangements? As long as there's no copyright issue involved, or is it all original?
Guest CreationArtist Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 an arrangement is fine but must incorporate original ideas i.e. new textures or orchestration.
Guest CreationArtist Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Submissions have been due for a while, but if you still want to participate, you have until the 20th which is the same deadline as the Christmas competition. I will except entries no further than the 20th for either contest.
