Pianosheets.org if you are looking for a bittorrent site. You have to use your mental content filter though, cause some of the files aren't public domain in many countries.

Thanks for the link! That place is awesome!

There isn't anyplace that has an orchestral arrangement of Pictures at an Exhibition, is there?

I'm not sure if that is public domain or not. I think it still falls under Ravel's legacy or what have you, but I guess it all depends on where you are. I had to shell out 25$ for that score in the US because his peeps are still getting paid.

IMSLP got a lot from these sites.

People, don't give up on IMSLP I assure you, IMSLP will come back.

Mozart is ALL public domain and available to the internet by some organisation.
NMAIt is not public domain. You may only use it under fair-use (personal use) only. It is still in copyright, and will be for a while.

Does anyone know where I can donwload a free orchestral score of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, or does anyone have it on their hardrive? I am arranging it for soloist and string orchestra where i'll feature, and the piano reduction doesn't cover all i'm looking for to arrange down...only if IMSLP could give us the vaguest idea of when they'll be back (months, a year, a few years maybe?)

Ooooh. For some reason I thought that the copyright had run out. Where could I buy it?

Probably a few months.

It is PD in countries with life plus 50, and in countries with recently introduced, non-retroactive 70+. Countries such as the US and those in Europe, it is still under copyright, and doing very well:

"According to SACEM, Ravel's estate earns more royalties than that of any other French musician. Most of Ravel's works will not enter the public domain until 2015."
