Young Prodigy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Well, where do I start? I'm a composer and I can compose music for you. Here are a couple samples of mines... Legend of Vanadia - Hero's Theme A soft orchestral piece I composed for a game called Legend of Vanadia. Jazzy Drum Solo A melodic, jazzy drum solo I recently composed. Forest Theme Theme I composed for a peaceful forest. Symphonic Orchestral Piece A random symphonic orchestral piece I composed, that is about 30 seconds long. As for requirements, I only asks of one thing. If you're going to ask me to compose, please at least have a demo or something you can show me. If you're interested PM me. Quote
Mark Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 A tip - a forum for composers isn't the best place to advertise yourself aas a composer, there are rather a lot of us around you see ;) Why not try some of the places I and a few others suggested when you asked about this in the shoutbox? Quote
robinjessome Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Here's an idea - take some video off YouTube or perhaps some indie filmmaker/animator forum or something, and write music for it. No one's going to come here looking for you. You can't sit around waiting for the phone to ring...because it won't. Do it yourself, start your own project. Quote

You can't expect COMPOSERS to come looking for composers, and we don't get a lot of non-composers here anyway... ;) Oh well, look at some video game sites, I am sure people would love to have a willing composer to write music for their original video games. Quote

Morivou Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Seconded - don't expect to get paid though. Also seconded, not at least for the first few times anyway... especially independent video game producers. Quote
Young Prodigy Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 I'm not looking for a paid project. I'm just looking for a project. I'm not looking for money. Quote
Morivou Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Then yes, your best bet would be an independent video game site, even I've done a couple of projects here and there with some of them (dang, I should have saved those links...) Quote

I have actually become a member here to seek out composers, and not for video games...for webcomics. It is early yet to make grand claims and promises, but in my opinion, no good movie makes it without good music. The same will become true for the next generation of webcomics if I have my way... Collaborn Visions Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Dear Young Prodigy; Don't count on someone finding you and recruiting you from here. Perhaps you are not... Decide exactly what media you want to compose for and go looking; music for books on tape, themes/jingles, scoring for websites, video games, flash presentations, home videos and/or CGI movies, webcomics, ect. That probably does not begin to scratch the surface of the possibilites, but you may well know that already. You don't want/expect money, so someone will snap you up in a hurry. What things depend on are your personal tastes and your evaluation of your abilities. Obviously, select a project(s) you can be inspired by, enjoy and feel good about being a part of. Music has great power. I hope you can make people very happy with it. Good hunting, ~ Mathew Quote
