Mahlon Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Fascinating book of interviews of composers on the compositional process, including composers such as john corligiano, steve reich, joan tower, john adams and others! this is only a preview, but I'm deffinetely considering purchasing the full version. robinjessome Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 It's a very interesting collection - I've used it previously in research... The John Zorn interview is especially intriguing. Quote
PsychWardMike Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Can't thank you enough for that link! I recently had a master class with Corigliano. Nice enough guy, but I find his pieces lack a sort of cohesive factor. It's great that he thinks modern music needs to invent new forms to get away from things like sonata allegro or rondo, but I don't think that pieces like his "Cicus Maximus" are the way to do it.
