I am capable of performing quite well; I enjoy it immensely. I am a dual Performance and Composition major at Oklahoma City University, and I think it would be beneficial for the composer to get a pretty darn good recording and for me as well, a commission, of sorts.

Have you ever written for Marimba before?

I am very interested, but not sure how much of a help I would be, I don't know very much solo marimba repertoire. The only thing I've ever played is the first Rosauro concerto for marimba. Marimba is my main percussion instrument, but percussion is not my main area. :P

Too bad Marius beat me to this... You're quick, aren't you? :P

So far, three among us who are interested are also working on the indoor percussion ensemble in the Collaborative. Maybe this project could be taken into that forum as well, if privacy isn't a major concern.

I would like something fun to play, fun to listen to, and work on my technique a bit. There's plenty of techniques on the marimba, and I'm down for working out anything. Also, anyone who is interested, I'd be more than happy to perform your work for you.

If you would like to do this, go ahead an PM me so we can individualize each project; I'd like to play to your strengths.

I'm down with whatever. It'd be cool to get a wide array of styles from you guys, but I'm down with whatever. I think it would be cool to get a piece with accompaniment, or maybe even a concerto...

This looks fun! I'm also in the Indoor Percussion Ensemble... Of course, I know nothing about technique on the Marimba... Oh well, Maybe I'll see what other people come up with and THEN get going on it...?

Chimes do, and some very special glockenspiels/orchestral bells do, but they also have very extended range, too, and I've never seen one of those in person, must be very rare. Chimes/tubular bells are common, though, but not really a keyboard instrument, per se.

Timpani has a tuning "pedal"...

:D

Anyways, I'm too busy to write a solo...
