Christopher Dunn-Rankin Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Well, this is the Composers' Headquarters, so I thought I'd expand on what we have before - and bring in the personal. What piece that you have written are you most proud of? Which do you think represents you best? I'm working on the piece I'm most proud of right now for a Juventas submission - it's a soprano solo to a poem by Stephen Crane, with backing parts in Oboe, Bassoon, Violin, and Cello. Quote
CaltechViolist Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Definitely the piano quartet that I'm working on now. Not that I have many pieces to choose from... Quote
spc1st Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I'd probably say my Dialogue for Keyboards, as it's fairly meaningful, but still lighthearted. Though in terms of most fun I had in writing a piece, probably some of the stuff I've done for random games for random people. Sometimes, I even end up missing sleep or class because I'm just compelled to keep on going. Quote
William K. Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Hmmm..... for me I would say my Piano Concerto No. 2 is my favorite. Allthough this piece is my favorite, this piece is not my best. I don't really know actually.... tough question.......... -William Quote
Thomas Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 My Symphony No. 1 in F minor which is currently in writing. My fav. piece I have written ... I'm not sure ... probably Wintertide, a tone poem for choir and reduced orchestra which was premiered in December 05. Quote
onearmedbandit Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Hm. I'm not sure to be honest. Apline Overture is probably my most accomplished work to date (probably), but I'm not sure it's my favourite. I'm quite fond of a couple of my string pieces and some other orchestral works. Hopefully I'll write something soon which will easily be my favourite :P Quote
M_is_D Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Already written? If so, then it should be my "Tragicommedia", altough it's not what you think...;) Quote
David J. Bailey Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I guess my favorite two 'standalone' themes are definatly the piano solo, "The Spirit", and the animated Clarinet solo "It rains in Tito's closet". My personal favorite cinematic themes for animation would be "Ronin's Theme" for the cartoon VGCats Animated" and "Norwick's Suite" for the animation "Thin Little Line". However, right now I'm working on 3 personal, individual themes that are turning out to be my most adaptive symphonic pieces. "The Golden Road to Gladica", "Traverse Tales of Kinoki", and "Prayers of the Forest Meadow". Quote
Guest Anders Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 My funeral march for rhodes and choir. I haven't notated it yet though. :P Quote
Guest Jen318tkd Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Hmmmm... Probably either my Prelude #2 (which was a Valentine's gift), or my one and only Scherzo. They might not be my best, but they have a lot of meaning to me because I wrote them for a guy I am crazy about. - Jen Quote
