olibrehm Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I'd like to try it too. I hope I can even though I've contributed just one post in this forum so far;)
Morivou Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Well, that makes two! Welcome aboard!
Morivou Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Cool! This is the last day to sign up, and there is only one spot left!! So, first one to post gets it!
nino_rajacic Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Maybe this is stupid question but I'm kinda new in this. I've finished my piece for the competition. Where and when could I post it?
Morivou Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 Um... hold on. The submissions thread will be created in mid-March.
jujimufu Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Woah, we have 20 participants :) That's an ambitious number :P I do hope all of them submit, but on the other hand, as a judge it can be a bit intimidating... I don't think I'll write as big reviews as I wrote for the first competition I was a judge in, but we may as well say to all participants to read the reviews of the previous competitions, and tell them we won't comment on things that were mentioned on previous reviews, and that if it's something important that has been mentioned before, they will be degraded more (because they won't have cared too much about their submission). What do you think? (btw, I am finishing up the reviews atm, but I don't think my battery is going to last that long, so I will send them tomorrow morning, unless you can find someone to get me my AC adaptor, because I am too lazy :P ). C ya! :D
Morivou Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 Exactly. PLEASE read ALL previous reviews once XxCransworthxX comes back.
johnsamuelpike Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Can any sounds be used as long as there are only two voices?
jujimufu Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 morivou, when are the reviews going to be posted?
Morivou Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 I cannot open your files for some reason, could you send them by Microsoft Document to cornycon2002@gmail.com? (For some reason Adobe is being a JACK-***)
jujimufu Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Wait, there might be something wrong with the server - do all the files appear to be 12 kb? If yes, then it's the server thing and I'll have to zip all the files and upload them somewhere else (or send them to your e-mail). However, I gave the links to the contestants individually (the direct link to their file, that is), and they got their reviews just fine... Try and save the files instead of opening them in your browser, if you haven't tried that. :| Anyway, if nothing of the above works, I'll try and save them as .doc (because I use OpenOffice.org and the format might not be the same in MS Word) and send them to you :)
ClarinetMicheal Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I have to drop out of the competition. I just don't have the time to focus on composing with all the clarinet stuff I have going on... :(
goodridge_winners Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Like ClarinetMichael...I will also have to drop out :( Sorry to be a pain. I have heaps of piano study to do...and I have more important compositions that need finishing. I will upload what I have worked on one day, but it's not going to be ready before the 20th. I didnt really think about how difficult two part compositions would be as well. Perhaps next time before I consider entering a comp...I will think about whether my prowess is possible at doing so.
jujimufu Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hm... Four days to go! I really hope this contest does not end like the previous one :(
nino_rajacic Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Maybe some one of you judges should PM everyone just to remind them?
Morivou Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Juji? Will you PM the participants (like, a MASS PM)? I may extend the deadline a couple of days if any are planning on submitting.
James H. Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I am dropping out. From lack of inspiration and skill. I cannot be happy with anything I write for two instruments... one time out of a million I can create something worthwhile (my earlier bassoon duet being the only example). I simply have a hard time working under such limitations - two instruments is not enough for me. :forlorn: Sorry guys.
