Daw Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi all, I recently discovered the joys of composition after working for a couple of years on loop-based sounds, but now it seems like all i can write are very linear pieces with static chord progressions. I have been working towards urban/world/symphonic melds but it doesn't seem to be working out for me. What can i do? Quote
Daw Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 And now that I think about it, if/when I start making progress how hard would it be to make a career out of audio in general with composition in the entertainment industry being my life's ambition? Quote
Lord Skye Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Extremely hard; you should only attempt it if you can't possibly see yourself doing anything else. Quote
Daw Posted February 6, 2008 Author Posted February 6, 2008 Wow, that's almost exactly what I heard from my previous music teacher. Quote
Lord Skye Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Because it's the truth :( Sorry. However! There are many many careers in the music industry. I'm sure you can be just as happy doing something else, while maintaining your composition as a hobby. Quote
