jujimufu Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Heya guys :D I thought I might as well give some help to those people who are stuck with their duo composition. I found some scores that you might find interesting. They are all for combinations of two melodic instruments (i.e. not violin, guitar, percussion etc). There is a piece by Poulenc (Sonata for two clarinets, 1918) for those who like neo-classicism or music that's not too chromatic. There is also a piece by Villa-Lobos ("Choros 2" for flute and clarinet) for those who think that traditional music is an important element in their music. Lastly, for those who feel more adventurous and exploring, there is a piece by Elliot Carter (that guy is still alive, and a very active composer as well! it's his centenary this year... :O ), called "Esprit Rude/Esprit Doux" (the title is explained better in the program note) written in 1985 for Boulez's sixtieth birthday (an amazing piece indeed..). Here's the link: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting (just click on "free", wait for the counter to reach zero, then type in the four digits and click "download", if you've never downloaded anything from rapidshare before) Hope you enjoy! If you need any more information on the pieces, feel free to ask me :) You can find samples of the recordings on amazon (maybe youtube, I haven't looked), and probably iTunes. Hope this gives you some ideas and you find the pieces inspiring in any way :D Take care!
