James H. Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I blurred into transparency, so now it should be in a state of translucency around the edges... any better? It's up there in my previous post. Quote
Mike Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I can't honestly detect any difference...I assume it's this post you updated? Quote
James H. Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Yes, that post. I tried another one, it's up there. As you can see, the more I try to anti-alias the edges, the more prone for error it becomes, since I have to redo it to each layer, copy-pasting effects involving translucent pixels, which behave difference on different frames. So I'd say the other one is about the best I can get. *EDIT* adding additional suggestions here because I can't add more IMG in my post below. Might need to smooth the edges, though. or :agree: I really like this one... *suggests* {found a use "[Today 11:00 PM] bpopw750: *agreed" } :comp: :crash: :hammer: .... one of those. A few members might need that one, including myself. Just joking about adding it, but if you want... XD That reminds me.... why is there such a small limit on number of IMG tags in posts? Max appears to be 4.... that makes me sad. I end up having to not do smilies for things, and in long posts I like to add smilies to makes sure people know I'm joking about stuff or whatever the case me be. So.... how about... at least 6? That should be plenty. Quote
robinjessome Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Here's a ton of cool ones...all in the same style as our current selection Quote
Daniel Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 We could have used this one a while back: Also, I propose the addition of this smiley, just for me :D : Quote
James H. Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 HOW DID YOU FIND THOSE??? Robin, that last one would make a great  I like the thumbsdown one. The rest.... I don't think we could use them. This one is ..... might be useful... :heh: or :squint: ... or :whaa: Looks a little to much like Blink, though? Here's a good :pout: Maybe not so good, rough the edges. Here are two non-animated potentional :pout: 's... http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/sad8.gif <- smooth edges, looks like a "puppy pout" =D ... I'd suggest this one I guess. http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/sad7.gif <- Not so smooth. =[ :scared: ? I like this a LOT. *suggests* *pleads with Mike...* please.....? :spam: Hey, I'm just kidding about this one. =D Quote
robinjessome Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 HOW DID YOU FIND THOSE???I took a class on 'Advanced Internet Techniques', and one of the things they taught us about was this COOL site called Goggle...or something like that. Quote
James H. Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I like that last one... :disdain: ? Ooohh... two more really good ones. Non-obtrusive and effective IMO. :eyebrow: ... that's a good one. Another good one... looks like C: ... a really wide smile. http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/smiling5.gif What do you think of this one? :zip: or :zipped: [Found a use... "[Today 10:59 PM] Invisionary: Hmm... I'll use this here and there... Hehe. Is this acceptable? :wall: or :bang: Adding this one is iffy... not sure Mike would like it, a little different from the rest. We've suggested a lot, I hope some of them are considered, I happen to like a lot. Quote
Anders Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I think we need some new characters. To compliment Smithy. :smithy: Quote
James H. Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 The next four are a little bit high... I could lower them so they'd be better aligned with the text if Mike cares to add any. Eh.... :clown: ? :reaper: or :grim: ? :hat: ? :cold: ? Or any on THIS page... SmileyJungle - Smileys, Emoticons & Zaps - Headgear Again... I've hit my max IMG tags... =[ :goku: http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/manga7.gif :smurf: http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/tv17.gif These are all really nice ones here... just depends on which ones Mike would approve. I've been trying to weed out the best from the site, there are literally pages and pages to choose from. Quote
Mike Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I've added these ones: :eyebrow: :headwall: :hmmm:  :phones:  :yc: :zip: As you can see, I tried to stick to the smaller images, with the exception of the YoungComposers.com one which I thought was quite good. Quote
Dirk Gently Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Thank you :happytears: They're awesome :w00t:! Quote
Mike Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Sorry, neither the Sith nor the one Berlioz has linked to above are of sufficient quality to be added to our collection. I did attempt to enlist the help of another Photoshop proficient person to anti-alias the Sith, but never got a response...will try that again now. Quote
Mike Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Perfect! Thanks very much for helping out. Here's the smilie in action: :stoicsith: Now what I'd love to know are the underlying reasons behind the YC membership's apparent penchant for deadpan Lightsaber wielding... Quote
Dirk Gently Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 It's just cool! :stoicjedi: :stoicsith:! Sweet....though it'd probably better if the jedi had a jedi robe/hood on :ermm: Quote
Mark Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 That would ruin the effect of stoicism! The idea was to have an extremely bored chap wielding a lightsabre, it's ironic! Actually, that's all crap, I was just playing with Animation Shop :D Quote
Dirk Gently Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Does it bother anyone else that they aren't in sync :ermm:? Quote
JairCrawford Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 YES!!! :w00t::w00t::w00t: Thanks guys! This is AWESOME! :stoicsith: Quote
Berlioz Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I'll compose an ode for the one who creates a Sweeney Todd smiley with enough quality for YC... Pwetty pwease... Quote
James H. Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Heh... nice Berlioz. DAMN YOU MARK. .... I lost the game. :( Why did you have to bold it?? :headwall: Quote
