Lee
I'm looking for a pop music composer. The project is for a podcast series that I'm making. I already wrote the lyrics, have a singer for the song, and the basic tune. If you are interested, then please reply here. If you have some examples, that would be great but not necessary. The music composer will be credited at the end of each podcast.
Nigel
More info would be nice, like compensation, description of the song, description of the podcast etc. etc... And by "having the basic tune", what do you mean? Does it mean you already the whole melody of the song down, and just want someone to do the accompaniment? Or anything else? I may be interested in this after the questions are answered. ;)

Does it mean you already the whole melody of the song down, and just want someone to do the accompaniment? Or anything else? I may be interested in this after the questions are answered. ;) Hi Nigel, here are my answers to your question. Compensation - there is no pay since the podcast will not be a paid program. It will be free to everyone and I'm hoping to release it on mid-May or earlier. The name of the music composer will be mentioned at the end of each podcast though (as well as his or her website if he or she wants to). Description of the song - the song is about a singer describing himself or herself what he or she does in a fantasy (actually, video game) world. Description of the podcast - It is about a boy who is transported into a video game world that he's familiar of. As for the basic tune issue, forget about it. When I was writing the lyrics, I had a tune in my head. And when I was looking for a (male or female) singer, I asked them to just sing my lyrics with their own tune. I narrowed my selection to two females and their tunes sounded better than what I had in my head. Actually, after giving it some more thought, I came to the conclusion that the tune that I had, was designed more for a male singer. So, now, I want the music composer to compose the music based on my female singer's tune. I have an open mind about the tunes so if the composer thinks that the stanza or chorus parts needs to have a different tune than the one that my singer have, then maybe I'll pick the composer's tune. I hope these answers your questions. If you have anymore, then just let me know.:)
robertn
are you looking for just harmonies that work with the vocal melodies? or are you asking for a completely finished song (composition- and production-wise)? it seems interesting but i'd like to see some more info though. James QZ
Yes I am interested in doing this, and would like more information.
Lee
To James and Robert, I just need the harmonies. I'll produce/mix the song. Send me a private message along with your email address so I can send you the voice file and the lyrics if you are interested. Thanks. nikolas
Lee: Why can't you write harmonies yourself? Here you go: Am F C G Bm G D A C#m A E B / chorus Bm Bb Fm F etc... is this what you want? Cause this seems... too little. And pop is all about production after all, at least provide an example of what you cant do...
Mark
Those are some sexy chords Nik :) I might just have to try that chorus chord progression sometime...
robertn
indeed the chorus progressions seems, well, refreshing.
Lee
Lee: Why can't you write harmonies yourself? Because I don't have a background on writing music notes. I don't even understand what you wrote.:) James and Robert sent me private messages and I'll send them emails to see whether they can do them. If any of you are still interested, you can still send me a message but I'll only respond if I didn't like the music that James or Robert came out with. Lee
Just a follow up on these - James and Robert are having a busy schedule so I need a couple of more people who want to try out if they can make the music for me. So, if anyone else is interested, then send me a PM. Thanks.
Lee
Just a quick update - I have two people at the moment who are "working" on this but I'm losing hope on those people because one them is already "working" on it for about 4 weeks (but she hasn't sent me anything such as a draft to show me her progress) and the other is not responding to my follow-up questions anymore. So, if you're willing to try this, please contact me via PM. Thanks.
MatthewSchwartz
Lee, Do you just want someone to "compose" the music, or are you also looking for that person to provide the actual musical recording? You said you'd produce/mix the music, but I don't know if that means you have your own sequencer program or whatnot. For example, your standard pop percussion can't really be notated; it'd have to be sequenced directly from a program. Either way, I'd like to give it a shot if you'll fill me on the specifics. Max Castillo
I could do the complete song and mixing and everything in a day but I don't have the time. Sorry. :)
Blimpy
could you just explain exactly what you are looking for the composer to do? :)
