criticalnotice.com features the music of young british composers.

Also, music information centers of various countries might do the same, with music and scores (like bmic.co.uk for the UK).

Unless you mean "free" rare music, in which case you have to find composers who distribute their music for free. Unless you mean illegal free "rare" music downloading, in which case piss off.. >_> :P

I received an infraction for implying that things exist. So I'm just going to say this.

I really don't appreciate the use of BitTorrent, libraries, or LimeWire

BitTorrent and Torrent search engines such as torrentz.com are awful and I don't approve of their use one bit!

What's wrong with libraries? :( Libraries are a bliss around here - I can't imagine myself buying a copy of Birtwistle's "Silbury Air" for 154 dollars just to take a look at the score :O

Obviously he means when people check stuff out of libraries to copy them at home, which is illegal.

One site you might be able to use (although it won't specifically help you find RARE music) is seeqpod.com

It's legal - it's just a search engine which returns interactive media such as music and video from websites. It's very accurate and effective, and you don't have to leave the page to listen to the music.

You know, performers and composers make more money from their pieces being well known than from CD sales. So, while downloading pieces [may] (slightly) hurts mega-corporations, the artists at worst not effected.
Wha... ? What do you mean?
A lot of forums have [stupid] rules where if you mention warez (sp?) you get the ban hammer.

BAN HIM! BAN HIM!

:D

AW7, can you explain how composers and performers make more money for being known rather than having sales? Because as I see it the ultimate point is to get known, in order to sell so at some point you need to start selling. ;)

All grammatical issues aside, the worst outcome of illegal downloading is the loss of revenue. The best outcome is more exposure leading to more sales/revenue.

There is no 'not effected'. (Nor 'not affected') :whistling:
